anyone take effexor?

i started effexor about 2 weeks ago it seems to be working a little.. i was on lexapro and it didnt help at all and i gained 11 lbs!!!! with the effexor i have lost 5 of the 11 already and im happy about that but i seem to have mood swings more often with effexor does anyone take this and how does it affect you

i agree about the mood swings. i came off effexor 8 months ago as i couldnt cope with the side effects, mood swings in particular. im not a dr but id strongly suggest you go back to your dr if this continues. however, it does take a while for your body to get used to any change of drug. i hope it works out ok for you.

I took effexor for a month and it really helped with my depression and anxiety, but it gave me an increased heart rate, and really bad dizziness...and when I switched meds i had the worst withdrawl.
Zoloft works much better for me and i didn't gain any weight
