Does your ego hurt if you change your religion?

Question:

Answers:
This is really a very general question. Much would depend upon the condition of your ego to start with and the religions changed from and changed to.

For most human egos, a change in religious beliefs is caused by an attempt to make the ego feel better. The change is done to help self esteem.

One possible exception to this general rule is a change made in order to Transcend one's ego. This is not always possible in Western Religions, but is common in some Eastern Religions. This does not hurt or help the existing ego. It "works around" it.

Not at all.I stopped being Catholic at 17 and it's been quite good.

A lot of Southern conservative weirdos have ego ENLAGEMENTS when they "find" religion.
Depends: if the religion calls for you to drop pride, then to regulate yourself to the lifestyle of that religion, you will find that your ego will be changed. Some religions are based on pride (with all respect) and some on being humble. So yes, there is a possibility of change in ego with change in religion.
I thought that it was all about losing your ego.
