Zoloft side effects in the first week...?

Question:
I've been taking Zoloft for about a week now and have had some strange side effects. I was wondering how long do they last and is it normal? The first day I took, about two hours after, I started to sweat quite a bit, and felt very sleepy, then forty-five minutes later I started texting my ex-girlfriend (who broke up with me three days prior to starting) like crazy. I was so into texting I left my job with my work clothes on! I got home and all the sudden felt very relaxed and needed to sleep. I slept for one hour and got up feeling cramps all over my body but very excited to get out and do something. I wanted to run because a friend suggested it, but then I wanted to get food cuz I hadn't eaten since the break-up, so I went to the store and wandered around for like an hour before finally settling down to buy something to eat. I stayed up late that night, went to bed and woke up two hours before work cramping again and angry. I got to work and left early because I felt I might

Answers:
I have taken Zoloft in the past three different times, I stayed on it for 8 months once, Your side effects sound a little extreme to me are you also recovering from drugs/ and or alcohol? that could contribute to your side effects, the reason I asked that is because of the cramps, they could also be from muscle tension you had and are now starting to relax, I DID Have the the sleepy weeks, about 2, also the extreme highs and lows for a couple weeks, one day instead of going to job I went to a park and sit and couldn't bring myself to move all day. I had the feeling I could conquer the world also at times, embrace that feeling! I feel for you, Doctors know most of this is normal and blow off your concerns, It takes 4 to 6 weeks for it to adjust in your system, Your size has a bearing, and your emotions also. Exercise is good if you could go for a brisk walk 30 min. a day at least 5 days a week your mood will improve on its own. Give the Zoloft time, and help it out with exercise and a daily multi-vitamin. If the cramping continues I would insist that the Dr. take time to figure this one out. Good luck to you this week should be much better.
you have to go to your doctor straight away as it is not entirely normal
