I was manic for the past six months, now am extremely depressed and on medication. Will I ever feel better?

Question:

Answers:
You should be feeling MUCH better by now. Are you on anti-depressants AND mood stabilizers? Because if you are truly manic depressive, you should be on both. If you are, then you may need a higher dosage or a different medication. I am disappointed that your therapist isn't monitoring your progress. Please get back to the doctor very soon and have your medications adjusted accordingly!

If you keep taking your meds and go to psychotherapy!!
This is a mental thing. Take some time to yourself and figure things out. You are the only one that can really change who you are. yes pills and psychiatrist may help but they won't solve the problem. make peace with yourself.
Take a deep breath. Take one day at a time.
Cheer up. Enjoy life!
yes you will feel better. Stay on your meds.the biggest mistake people make is once the meds make them feel better they stop taking them. Then it's manic and depressed all over again and waiting to stabilize.so stay on your meds.this will pass I promise you!
Yes, that is what the medicine is for. It will make you level. You made need to talk to your doctor to get some medicine that will help with the depression. This may take some time to figure out which one will work the best for you.
Make the choice to feel better. Make the choice every single day. Try to contribute to the lives of others and you will find that selflessness can produce happiness in your life.
YES! It might take a bit of time, but make sure you are seeing a therapist on a regular basis to help you deal with mood swings and depression. Be sure to speak with your doctor if you're still having depression symptoms.you might need to switch to a different medication(s) that's better for you. Hang in there! contact me on yahoo messenger if you have any other questions or need to talk to someone.

I have bipolar disorder
I would recommend that you talk to someone. This can be a very serious problem and it sounds like you need some answers. I believe you will feel better but you need to do this for you. An alcoholic can't quit drinking because someone wants them to quit drinking. They need to want to do this and then they can with help from others.
Yes you will feel better. If you are looking for advice on ways to feel better, first and foremost follow that of your doctor. In addition to that, try exercise or at the very least sunshine and 10 deep breaths twice a day. Also, volunteering or giving always seems to boost my moral - try donating time at a hospice unit, homeless shelter, a local hospital, or food bank. These will help you see that you have it much better than most. Lastly, as best as you can, surround your self with positive people and laughter.
Keith,
You will get better! It's important that you communicate your feelings and emotions as best you can with your prescribing physician. If you don't feel that you are getting any better- make sure they know as there are many different medication families that they can try.
Lose the medication. Doctors only prescribe it for their paychecks.

Fly a kite. Swim in a river. Go to a fair and watch the happy people. Go see a movie. Play frisbee or putt putt. Put in a good CD and dance and sing. Watch clouds drift by. Eat yummy steak and taters. Make other people smile.

A million things I could list aside from drugs.

Only goodness will help you, and goodness abounds.

So - Happy Day! I wish you the best!
i can only say that i belivie if take you medice that the doctor gave you . and keep seeing your on a regular bases . i think any thing is possible . i think if a peson tries hard to get better there is always hope
I personally believe that you can absolutely get better. Everybody has their ups & downs, and you can't allow yourself to stay down. You and only you can pick yourself up. You must have something that makes you want to live, see the sunsets, breathe the fresh air.and thank God for your life. For all I know, we could've been born as dirt, or a mosquito. But we were given the gift of life as a human being & we're able to enjoy what life has to offer. I definitely know that it can get to my head sometimes, but I ignore the dark sides of life, pick myself up.and remind myself to live, laugh, & eat great food! :) oh yeah.also, Thank God and definitely love all those around me to the fullest. If there is a definite chemical imbalance.take the medication.but you probably don't need it. Maybe you should just pick up and take a trip around the world.go backpacking through Europe. It'll probably give you a different perspective of life and a life changing experience. :)
