How fast does clonazepam kick in?

Question:
I have the generic klonopin, green pills, that orally disinegrate. Dr said take under tongue, pharm says to swallow. Does putting it under the tongue speed the process of going into the body, or is it wasting extra med by disingrating in mouth? Thank you so much!!

Answers:
The longer you take clonazepam the longer it takes to work. It also depends on your dosage. When I first started taking it, it worked within minutes and I was only taking 1mg. I now take 2mgs and it takes about an hour to work, and sometimes not at all. You develop a tolerance to it. I have developed one. I'm not sure if I could get the doc to up the dosage again but I'm sure going to try.

As far as under your tongue vs. swallowing. Disolving it under your tongue makes it absorb quicker. In the end, they will both have the same effect.

works the same both ways, does not take long at all to work
Placing a medication under the tongue and letting it disolve delivers the medication to your blood stream quicker. Your tongue has the fastest circulation in your body. Should be in approx 20 minutes or less.
Should take only about 15-20 minutes to work.
Injection works the fastest. Of course you could try an enema as well. Don't try putting it in your ear. It won't dissolve and it can be hard to get out and will taste terrible after that.
doesn't take long for mine to kick maybe about 30 mins
