I am an adult who has a hard time concentrating. How do I fix that?
Question:
Answers:
I wouldnt necessarily say that it is ADD, possibly it could be your diet. I also have trouble concentrating, because I am intolerant to many different kinds of foods.
For an example, you could be mildly hypo-glycaemic (hypo? hyper?) which is the opposite to diabetes, but still affecting your blood sugar levels, which in turn can interfere with concentration, patience and nerves.
What you could try, is a very very basic diet for a week or two, and then slowly start introducing things back into your diet.
Eliminating those that make you feel terrible.
I find that if I dont eat processed foods, or foods high in sugar (other than natural sugars), and minimise my carbohydrate intake, my concentration level is much higher.
Also protein is good for concentration. If you find you are feeling sluggish, and edgy, reach for a handful of mixed nuts, or a boiled egg, or a slice of cheese (unprocessed).
Start your day with a big breakfast, then pack lots of small protein snacks to snack on every three hours or so throughout the day.
If you go to a herbal remedy shop, they could give you some mineral suppliments to take too.
Gingko nuts are very good for concentration, if you dont like the taste of these, they also have this in herbal formula.
Good luck, if you find that nothing is working, maybe you are just too bored with work, or need a holiday.

maybe yoga and meditation could help.
Try getting extra sleep and taking herbal supplements like ginko-biloba. If that doesn't work, and it is really affecting your life, see a doctor. There are perscription meds that can help. Tibetan heart yoga
There's a prescription you can get from the doctor to help with that. So i would just ask your physician.

I have the same problem. Mine is due to my thyroid, I have hypothyroid.
I read about Flax seed helping so I tried it it seems to be doing it's job. I read on a medical news site they are experimenting with it as treatment of ADD. It is helping me to focus.
Flax is available at your supermarket either as a seed to be add to your cereal, or bake goods or in pill form in the pharmacy section with the vitimans.
B4 putting yourself in that category, think about anything that may be troubling you in life, get that resolved, cancel out any other miscellaneous thoughts, and focus on whatever it is that needs to be focused on, easier said than done.
