Answers:
When you grow up with it, it just becomes part of who you are.
I lock doors a lot, I am extremely clean with food preparation, I arrange things just so, I wont use anything with metal shavings.I dont know I could write a book about my obsessions.

Other Answers:
i wash my hands before i touch any bit of food, after i touch my dog,and i dont touch anything that has been in my garage and im picky about things that are outside. I wash my hands about 30 times a day and i work in a hospital so i use the alcohol hand wash every time i touch anything and return to my computer.

OCD completely affects who I am. Most people are able to go on medication for it, but I cannot. I am bipolar also, with a tendancy toward manic episodes, so the normal treatment for OCD (anti-depressants) would afftect my bipolar.

As with any disease, I have good days, and I have bad days. My obsessions are with hygine, cleanliness of the house, perfectionism. It irritates my family sometimes, but we learn to live with it. My doctor recently put me on a high does of anti-anxiety meds, and it has helped a little. I feel like I am no longer in control of my own life, kind of like I'm not free. I must do certain things, and my counselor tells me the only way to get over it is to stop rituals. I can't imagine life without OCD because it is like part of my personality and it sucks asss.
