I am not getting comfortable sleep in the night. Please help me?

Question:
I am 70 years of age. I am doing job and keep myself busy. But when I sleep at nights I do not get constant sleeps. Please help me as it hurt me and I became very much disturbed all the day.

Answers:
I can only tell you my own experience on getting a good nights sleep:
1) I avoid caffeine after 2pm. 2) Walk 2 miles per day (if possible) and physical exercise throughout the day. 3) are their any emotional problems thats on my mind and causing sleep disturbance..4) Avoid Alcohol (it is a known sleep disturber 5)) Avoid heavy foods such as cheese at bedtime that are hard to digest. 6) Are you suffering from depression (early morning awakening) 7)Going to bed at the same time every night and getting into a routine such as reading or watching TV etc. Staying asleep is also a trick for me and if I wake up during the night and can't get back to sleep I will read again or watch TV and have a small bowl of cereal and milk/ take Ibuprofen (motrin) as it is a wonderful sleep aid and non addictive .Also, avoid taking any naps during the day or in the evening If all these measure fail then I would seek the help of a Doctor.

Other Answers:
At the age of 70 it is normal. You can do some light work out like walking everyday it will help you and before going to bed drink a glass of lukewarm milk as milk contains some sleepy things.Avoid excessive work or tension

sleep is very important, and as a lot to do with determining our moods. if you are not sleeping well call your doctor and ask for a mild sleeping pill, you will start feeling better once you start getting a good nights rest. I wish I can help you, but I can't I have sleeping problems too.that's why I am on medication to sleep (ambien 10mg) it can also be you are sad about something or someone..try your best to sleep..it makes a heart younger.

try having sex before bed, or if noone is around simply masterbate. WORKS FOR ME!
