Answers:
Maybe it's a "dream" now, but it may be reality based and you may be suppressing what really happened, but your subconscious won't let you.

kill someone thatll make them go away
maybe you didnt, and dont, feel safe. it's pretty hard to say for sure, but that seems the most logical to me.
Dreams, and reoccurring dreams in particular, are our brain's way of processing, and in some cases alerting us to various emotional things that happen in our waking lives.

So you are having this dream, over and over again, because there is some situation in your life that you are not addressing, or perhaps even aware of.

The trick to interpreting the dreams, is to think about the way you feel when you are having the dream, and then figure out when during your waking life you experience the same emotion.
Before you goto sleep at night ask that God surround you with the white light of the Holy Spirit and to take away your bad dreams.
I have learned this from the Psychic Sylvia Browne. She is on the Montel Williams Show every Wednesday, and she also has many wonderful and helpful books, some on dreams.
My wife used to have the same experience although it does not happen as frequent. It happens whenever she is depressed, frustrated and feeling insecure, especially during the times we travel.
I think you need to relax and think of the good things in the world. Enlighten yourself with positive thinking, your family, community services, wholesome activities and hobbies, and anything that brings you good influences and peace. Stay away from viewing those countless criminal news on TV or anything that could disturb your peace of mind. Sometimes controlling your fearful thoughts can be difficult, but this might be just the thing that you need to be working on.

Cheers!
i've been told that when you have a dream that freaks you out you should focus on how you are feeling in the dream. it generally will correspond to how you are feeling in the real world right now. i've had a dream where i've been raped as well and basically i felt totally violated, scared shitless, helpless, etc. and that pretty much sums up how i felt.
