anyone gone cold turkey on the antidepressant cymbalta? i take 60mg x2 day.?
Question:
Answers:
I personally have never gone cold turkey from any antidepressants, but during my career as a paramedic, I have taken care of people who have. It is never a good idea to just quit taking medications for aiding moods- either for antidepressants or the medications for bipolar disorders, and the like. The body has become used to the medications, and although you may feel great as a result, it doesn't mean you will function and feel as well if you just quit taking them. You could end up seriously depressed and not realize it until you do become aware again in hospital. Before you quit taking your medications, you really really need to speak to your doctor. If you don't like some aspect of the medications, if it is causing you problems, tell him so. There may be other medications you can take that will be just as effective. But please- don't just quit taking what you have now. Take it until you can speak with your doctor. You are worth too much to yourself and others to take that kind of chance with your life.
Y r u stopping it? U should taper off, not stop suddenly.
