What are the primary features of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
Question:
Answers:
NPD carriers (I use the word carriers because people who have NPD don't suffer, they make eveyone else suffer) think the whole universe revolves around them. Essentially, they have never progressed beyond the understanding of life that a baby is born with. They think & act a though nobody else has valid views or feelings. Their view of life, the universe & everything is always right and anybody who either disagrees with this or may threaten their view of the universe is to be punished. They are accomplished manipulators & liars.
About 1 in 15 people has some sort of NPD, there is no variation by gender, but people with NPD are particularly drawn to certain professions where they can rule over others. Primary one that draws them like flies to a honeypot is personnel work, after that the "caring" professions (nursing, social work etc.), then authority functions like local government & government where they spend money but don't have to make it. You'll find them in positions of minor power in all walks of life.
Other Answers:
They are evidently transfixed by a static fantasy image of themselves, like Narcissus gazing at his reflection. Both genders are equally effected, when effected.
