well it is said that nearly all the people are unhappy with how they look..its normal not to like urself..maybe u should get over ur problem by keep on reapeting to yourself -"i m beautiful"
say it everymorning when u get up and keep on reminding ur self every time u feel put down.
another way of increasing ur confidence would be tobecome goodat something..any hobby of urs.dancing, singing, drawing, even studying.that way people will always appreciate u for more than ur looks and as u keep getting praises ur self image will improve too..
jus rember.."beauty is skin deep.when the beauty fades..its the personality that matters!"
you are your own worst critic, no very many people are happy with how they look, considering how high the percentage rate of plastic surgery is these days. i guess you just gotta realize that other people dont think you're ugly or fat. look int he mirrro and tell yourself everything you do like about yourself whether its your hair, your teeth, whatever. every day in the morning. ignore all the bad stuff and focus on the positive. most people need to learn to do that. maybe you can start
You need to make sure you are not using this to ignore other problems you may have.. Are you inactive? Do you have a normal social life? Or if you are obsessing about your body alot during the day.you may need help such as counseling.or join a support group. You only have a one life to live and if you are using too much time on this you are letting the beauty of being alive slip away from you
Hi my friend! Reading your question sounded so familiar as I used to be the exact same way! So, you aren't alone! My family and friends had always "lifted" me up and complimented me by telling me I was pretty and skinny. But, regardless, I didn't see the same image in the mirror that they were seeing! I had convinced myself that I was ugly and fat. I thought that they only said that because they were my family and friends and just felt sorry for me or something. I developed both anorexia and bulimia in 1996 and had to go to an impatient treatment center! Thank God I am free from those disorders today. I have learned that my mind was distorted then, I truly saw someone in the mirror that was fat and ugly and I hated myself! Today is different, and although I don't feel like the most wonderful girl in the world, I can say I love myself for who I am. Wow! I never thought I'd say that, so see there, you CAN change! The things you think about yourself and the way you criticize yourself affects the way you view yourself. Realize that you are beautiful and that God created you just the way you are and He doesn't make mistakes. When we critcize ourselves, we are critcizing God's work. When I was in treatment, we had to lie down on concrete and have someone draw an outline of our bodies with chalk. When I got up, I didn't recognize the shape! My thinking had been SO distorted! You might want to do this with a friend. When you look into the mirror, say this. "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE YOU". Try this, and practice it. It's one thing that had helped me tremendously. You are going to continue to feel bad if you continue to put yourself down and focus on the negatives. Focus on your positives and the things you have to be grateful for. Some people would die to look like you or be like you! You are unique, there's no one in this world like YOU! You are very special and important. So start treating yourself like it! Just know that you are not alone, I am 28 now and it's taken a while to get to this point. I still have "fat" days but I now love myself and I remind myself of this statement that gives me peace. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come, so live just for TODAY! Life is too short to constantly worry about how we look.
You'll get better, just start reprogramming your mind to realize that you are beautiful! This will get better, it did for me! Good luck to you and keep your head up okay! Now, GO LOOK INTO THE MIRROR AND SAY I AM BEAUTIFUL!!
P.S. Sorry I wrote so long, this is just an important issue that I care a lot about when someone's having a hard time. Once I started writing, I couldn't stop. Sorry if I wasted your time.
