why would a person stop remembering his dreams?
Question:
Answers:
The main dietary factor that effects dreams is amino acids (proteins). If you suddenly stop remembering dreams then you may be getting too much animal protein and not enough plant protein (like from seeds, nuts, grains, legumes). Also over eating or eating too much sugar decreases dream recall. Try meditating a few minutes before going to bed and remind yourself to try to remember your dreams in the morning. When you wake up, keep your eyes closed and remain still while trying to remember your dreams. Keep a tape recorder next to your bed, so once you remember you can easily record it before you forget again. Try sprinkling a few drops of lavender oil near your bed. The more dreams you have in your long term memory, the more the dream state becomes understandable to the brain and the easier it becomes to recall dreams. If you really want to get into remembering dreams or becoming lucid in dreams I suggest you go to http://www.lucidity.com , It has many methods promoted by a psychophysiologist named Stephen LaBerge who studies lucid dreaming. His methods, if practiced regularly, will ensure you amazing dream recall and in time the ability to be lucid in dreams.

i dont know but i have the same problem
I heard that if you wake up to an alarm that you won't remember your dreams as well because you are jolted awake. But if you wake up naturally then you are much more likely to remember them. Didnt give them to much importance.
it's a combination of practice, people that don't want to remember or care little end up forgetting more. Also the period of time between the dream like REM state and deep sleep makes a difference, if you had been having a good hour of deep sleep before waking you would remember less of the last REM dream.
A good tactic is to keep a dream diary by the bed, soon as you wake write down as much as you can remember, and the detail and number of dreams should improve as you keep at it.
forgot to take ginsing Allot of factors can make one not remember dreams, each of which effect the sleep cycle, disabling good REM sleep.
1) Stress
2) Illness
3) Alcohol
4) Medications
5) Illicit Drugs
6) Light
7) Noise
Personally, I stopped remembering my dreams, regularly, 8 years ago, when I became very ill, and required months of hospitalization. It has not changed, due to continuous health problems, since then.
I have studied this topic, and I have a few things that may be helpful to you, if you are in good general health.
1) Go to bed and wake up at scheduled times, every day. Even if it is your day off.
2) Have a comfortable place to sleep, make sure it is dark, noise free, and cool.
3) Do not drink alcoholic beverages, or take mind altering drugs.
4) Start a journal, and write how you feel, the days events, etc, in it. This will help you work out the days probs/stresses in your head before you hit the sack.
5) Keep a dream journal, or a recorder, by your bed, to keep an account of your dreams.
6) Eat right and exercise.
I hope this helps you!
