Whenever I lay on my bed, I feel like there's crumbs or sand on it! What happened?

Answers:
If you mean the sheets feel that way, it is probably because with age blended fabric sheets tent to "pile."
Pile means that tiny balls form and stick on the fabric surface. Sheets aren't the only fabric that does this... sweatshirt/sweatpants, sweaters, towels.... various items will do this but bedsheets in particular can be troublesome since our bare skin lies on the cloth.
A high quality blended sheet with a higher thread count as well as a higher percentile of cotton in the blend will lessen the chance of piling.
Better yet, 100% cotton sheets will not pile. But they are more likely to shrink and wrinkle.
Have you tried washing your sheets?
