Get counseling, its like a shortcut to work through faster.
What is there to get over?? The abuse? The best way is to "wake up" and love yourself. if even you, yourself can't truly love yourself, how do you expect others to treat you right and love you?
Been there myself.. First of all take a look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself ( I Deserve Better). I do hope your away from this person, if not get out now.
Mental abuse is something you never get over. However, you have to work on yourself first. Why? so you never fall into a relationship like this again. It becomes a cycle if you don't take care of it now. You will fall right back into an abusive relationship. Seek counseling, this will help.
