How can I beat depression and anger?

Question:
I feel suicidal most days and would love to feel free. i am on tablets and receiving counselling but it doesnt seem to be working. I am also suffering from an eating disorder and would love some advice on how to beat it. I dont eat and I am getting very tired now.

Answers:
Stop taking the pills and stop the counselling. Set a goal for yourself. One that involves saving money is good. Make a plan to achieve your goal. Work at least 50 hours per week. You'll be so busy you won't have time to think about how rotten the world is. If your goal is to save $10,000 in one year, you'll know that you'll only be working your butt off for 1 year. By doing this, you won't be over-sleeping, you'll be getting exercise, and you'll learn that you have control over your situation. Pills only make you worse in the long run. Counselling is a waste of time and money, and it doesn't help, in fact it often makes you worse.

Take a vacaton and go to Hawaii, lmao, Go somewhere free, DON NOT DRINK COFFEE ON THESE TIMES! Okay?
You don't really give enough information here, but, you might consider taking DHEA. 150mg a day has gotten me off of antidepressants, and I feel great.
go and discover yourself, travel and find the real you. get away from everyday stress! the world is a big and wonderful place. smile!!
Maybe having low blood sugar from not eating is making you feel worse. I'm always worse when I've not eaten.

I have no real words of advice, just {{{HUGS}}}} and hang on in there, old chap, things will get better :-)
Talk to your doctor and tell him/her that your medication isn't working. You may need to be on something different or require a higher dose. You shouldn't be feeling suicidal and if you are it shows you really need to talk to your doctor/therapist about it.
I think you need to stick with the tablets and the counselling. It is a long road you are on and you need to realise there is no quick fix or easy solution. Some days will be better than others. When you feel really really bad, try phoning the Samaritans or visiting their website
http://www.samaritans.org.uk/
try and relax and try and talk to a close friend and tell him/her how you are felling. good luck
With a big stick..give yourself a slap in the face and get a grip of yourself.. go outside and enjoy your life,, you only get one crack at life,, if that does not work a long piece of rope and a tree will do the trick..
Try, doing what I do to keep unwanted emotions under control, by meditation, it works very well.

i had depression & eating disorder, & every one will say do this do that! take a holiday... why your still gonna feel **** when you come back to the place that's making you feel crummy. find out exactly what is dragging you down, take a day at a time, maybe anger management? until you feel good in yourself & except things whatever they may be, only then you can make things better. hope this helps. good luck
Babe stick with the programme, it is a very long struggle and giving up will always seem like an option but dont, nobodys words can help you, you need to do that for yourself. The depression comes along side the eating disorder and you need to find a positive state of mind, it all seems very dark just now but believe me there is that light at the end of that tunnel.....
Tell your dr how you feel sweetie tell him everything that is bothering you,it won't last forever sweetheart.godbless you my dear.
You need to decide that you are more important than the issues, situations, and people who are bringing you down. While not as easy as it sounds, it is 100% effective.
i suffer from depression and want to kill my self and eveyone else, but i find sex and drugs help xxx
First you have to start loving yourself you only have one life so try to see the positive in everyday. I remember Richard Branson buying the West Coast railway. He changed the branding into Virgin, he changed the staff Uniforms and spent real money on tilting trains but do you know as soon as the first train left the station the only thing people remember was the train was late 10 minutes. This is proof that you can do so many good things but people will never be happy so think about that when you aree going through a bad time.

I am also concerned for you as you say you are suffering eating disorder. Please try to improve this and eat veg/fruit and go to the Gym for good advice.

Get some friends to guide you through it and good luck the future is in your hands......
I know what you mean.

Two things worked for me:

one, I'm not ashamed to say that having a relationship with Jesus Christ helped amazingly, but -

two, I had to make the firm decision I was not going to live that way anymore. After a while, the pain gets so familiar that we actually wonder how we could live without it. The pain becomes our "friend". Man, I had to ditch that - which is easier said than done! - but Jesus helped me do that. I believe He can help you too.

Sounds unfashionably simplistic, but it worked for me.
No matter where you go or what you take, if you don't practice positive thinking you will never get better. I suggest you read some books by author Joseph Murphy. "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" is a good one to start with. Dr. Murphy says thoughts are things and we become what we think about all day. Say to yourself several times a day "I am happy to be healthy, successful and wealthy. God is guiding me now. I radiate love and happiness to everyone I meet and wonders are happening in my life. My good thoughts bring goodness to my life. I am eating good now and I feel full of energy and happiness." You must get your mind out of the gutter. Also, let your doctor know your meds are not working. He can change them. It's kind of an experiment until you find the right ones. Good Luck!
you need help friend so why dont you visit your own gp who inturn will send you to people who understand your situation as it is at this time. they will give you professional advice and treatment and a big effort has to come from you also, and in no time you will see the sunrise and the beautiful world that it is once again. Take my advice see your doctor right now and good luck, you will make it , fix your mind on the good things that partly keeps the bad feelings away from your daily thoughts
Read the Word of God .. BIBLE.. you have all the answers in it !!

Read "Ask and it is given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Good luck.
I would like to tell you something very personal to me which is my life and what has happened to me in the past, I was abused as a child, married a mentally cruel guy, had a breakdown at 31, divorced at 34 with 3 girls, moved in with a very violent guy, brought up his 3 children along with my own 3, finally run away from him, slept in a car for two weeks, moved in with my sis miles away from where my girls went to school but still made sure they went every day. Moved to a half way house until I was finally housed to a tip, had nothing, not even a bed. Life is an upward climb, change your counsellor, change your medication, eat little but often, look into yourself to find the reasons why you are the way you are, there is an answer. The next time you go to see a counsellor, if you dont feel comfortable in the waiting room or on an initial meeting, change your counsellor, you have to feel a trust that will make you want to pour your heart out. By the way, it has taken a lot of soul searching for me but I am now a qualified Naturopath who was diagnosed with Bi-polar three years ago but will never give up the fight. I truly hope this has gone some way toward helping you.
you need to eat eat a little bit the tablets are going to take a while to work if after 4 weeks speak to your Dr to change them some tablets just done work for some give the counsellor time you will feel down for a bit cause it raking the past up and the felling suicidal come on her go out take your mind off it
Think of all those people who love you.
The most common treatment for depression includes the combination of antidepressant medicine and psychotherapy (called "therapy" for short, or "counseling").

Psychotherapy

PsychotherapyPsychotherapy is sometimes called "talking therapy." According to the National Institute of Mental Health, some people with milder forms may do well with psychotherapy alone. A licensed mental health professional helps people with depression focus on behaviors, emotions, and ideas that contribute to depression, and understand and identify life problems that are contributing to their illness to enable them to regain a sense of control. Psychotherapy can be done on an individual or group basis and can include family members and spouses.

Medicines

Medicines are commonly used to treat depression. Your family doctor or a psychiatrist can prescribe them, and are chosen based on your symptoms. The cost of medicines and potential side effects are important considerations when choosing this type of treatment for depression.

Electroconvulsive Therapy

Electroconvulsive therapy, or ECT, is a procedure in which an electric current is used to produce a seizure in the patient. It is believed that ECT results in the release of chemicals in the brain that aid communication between nerves. It is one of the fastest and most effective ways to relieve symptoms in severely depressed or suicidal patients, or patients who are suffering from mania. ECT is used when severe depression is unresponsive to other forms of therapy. It is also used when medication is considered unsafe. ECT is usually followed by psychotherapy and medication under a psychiatrist's care. On occasion, ECT is prescribed on a regular basis (monthly-quarterly) to prevent further episodes of depression.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation

Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) – In July 2005, the FDA approved a VNS device to treat adult patients with long-term or recurrent major depression. Traditionally it is used along with medications for hard-to-treat epilepsy in those over 12 years old, and it was approved in conjunction with medications for the treatment of severe depression in those 18 or older or for those who are experiencing a major depressive episode and have not had an adequate response to four or more adequate antidepressant treatments.

Alternative Treatments

Alternative treatments can sometimes provide relief that traditional western medicine cannot. While some have become accepted as part of modern healthcare practice, others still have not been proven safe and effective.

Whether or not they are scientifically effective, alternative therapies, by providing forms of relaxation and relief from stress, may have a place in healing and general health and well-being. Examples of alternative therapies include acupuncture, guided imagery, chiropractic treatments, yoga, hypnosis, biofeedback, aromatherapy, relaxation, herbal remedies, massage, and many others.

In general, alternative therapies by themselves are effective for mild, but not more severe forms of depression.

Experimental Therapies

Experimental therapies are treatments that are not regularly used by doctors. Their safety and effectiveness are still being studied.

Some experimental therapies currently being investigated for treatment of depression include:

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS): Also called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), this is a technique in which magnets are placed on the head for a short time to alter the electrical currents in the part of the brain thought to control mood. Transcranial magnetic stimulation has been shown to help some people with depression and has few, if any, side effects. It is not, as originally anticipated, a replacement for ECT. Though these results are promising, more studies are needed to determine any long-term side effects and benefits.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in women: Depression is more common in women than in men. Changes in mood with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), after childbirth and following menopause are all linked with sudden drops in hormone levels.

Hormone replacement is a treatment currently used to relieve symptoms of menopause such as night sweats and hot flashes. HRT can also help prevent bone-thinning osteoporosis. However, these hormones can actually contribute to depression. Be sure to tell your doctor if you have had depression before and are considering HRT.

Can Depression Come Back?

Even when treatment is successful, depression can return. Psychotherapy and/or maintenance antidepressant medication can help prevent depression from coming back by correcting the beliefs, perceptions, and behaviors that contribute to your depression. If you do experience recurring symptoms, don't hesitate to seek help again.

What is the Outlook?

The outlook for depressed people who seek treatment is very promising. By working with a qualified and experienced mental healthcare professional, you can regain control of your life.
dont make any big plans take one day at a time . always get ready when u get up when u look better u feel better i promise u .

You may have a blood sugar imbalance known as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). If you have not received the blood tests for it, yet, check out www.hufa.org and see how you can self-test for this.

It could possibly be the cause for your depression, anger and eating disorder. It is very likely the cause of your tiredness.

Check it out and tell me what you think. I want to know, cause I care.
