Hello..Any changes in the mental state can cause even memory losses. It is a frequent occasion in many depressions, especially associated with anxiety or let's say often connected with the Generalized Anxiety Disorder..Most of those memory losses happened while the person is under some treatment ,prescribed by his/her neurologyst or psychiatrist..Best of luck!!

yes it does!!

if you are too anxious, your brain is not getting enough oxygen therefore you are not processing not even half of what is presented to you at that fiven time, the 1st thing that you do not prrocess are those that are "short term" so yeah it affects it greatly

Sure, your mind is on the anxieties. relax I HAVE AN ANXIETY PROBLEM OH! SORRY WHAT WAS THE QUESTION

I think so. During the time you are anxious, I think you are not concentrating on what is happening and could forget what you did, said or WHERE YOU PIT SOMETHING!! By they way.where did I put..??

WELL ILL NEVER FORGET THAT PANIC ATTACK I HAD..THOSE THINGS ARE CRAZY..we have to calm down theres nothing in this world to worry so much about that it effects our health like that

Stress does different things to different people. Memory loss is definitely not just a sign of old age. I have known young people to completely wipe out their memory of a certain incident because it was too stressful to remember. So, yes, your answer is yes. When you're anxious, the brain is over-active, and you are preoccupied by the thoughts spinning in your head, and easily distracted by what's going on all around you. So concentration and focus are more difficult. If you can learn to be more calm, through therapy (with or without medications), or meditation/yoga, you will find that you can remember things more easily.

I do not believe it can! It may cause the inability to recall certain things during an attack as it affects your ability to concentrate but I do not believe it can cause permanent memory loss. At least it hasn't had that effect on me!

Yes it does, sometimes you can be so excited that your mind is racing.I have been to this point sometimes, If you stop take a deep breath and let your mind catch up with your body you can re-focus on the task at hand.

Yes, it can. When you have too much anxiety, thoughts enter your mind so fast, that you can't keep up with them. You also start worrying about forgetting things and that makes it even worse.
