Murderers...do you think they are in pain for what they did?

Question:
I think this has to be with them for the rest of thier life. I imagine when they first wake up is why it bothers them the most. They probably keep their real feelings from the other cell mates.

Answers:
You are assuming that the person has a conscious, guilt and remorse over what they have done. I think some people do feel bad about what they have done,
However, some people have no conscious or guilt about what they have done due to mental illness (insanity)
Some people are good at justifying their murders. (the person had it coming to them) Gang murders
In prison some people even brag about their murders, it is a badge of honor or status

Other Answers:
I honestly think it depends. You're assuming that all murderers have a conscience. I'd say that if if perhaps someone is drunk or otherwise not of right mind and kills someone else, or accidentally does it, then yes, they will probably be haunted by it. But people who intentionally kill for personal gain, or serial killers - I don't think these people suffer any remorse.
no i dont think so. In fact if someone did on purpose i doubt that they would regret it. I know for sure that if I ever did i would never regret it because it was for a good reason.

FOR EXAMPLE:

say you have children, and some guy takes advantage of them. what are you going to do? just sit around and wait for the judicial system? I THINK NOT. I would kill him without a single thought.
of course they don;t feel pain or sorrow for what they have done. they only express remorse when they get caught in order to get a lesser sentence.
if they had a concept of feeling pain they would not comit coldblooded murder in the first place.

i guess the only exception to this would be an everyday nice person who through no fault of there own ends up killing someone such as in a car accident and then they will feel the pain of killing someone.
If not for what they did, then perhaps for why they did.
It probably does bother most of them. I know it would me. I'm sure there are a few exceptions though. Like serial killers. They enjoy killing and I doubt they regret it.
Not everyone who commits murder feels remorse. There are murderers who are sociopathic and are unable to feel remorse for their actions. There are murderer's who are psychopaths and enjoy killing and their are people who've killed and are so mentally ill that they don't realize what they're doing.

I would hope that all people who've murdered would be able to come to terms with what they've did and repent for their terrible actions, but that's not always the case.
It depends on the circumstances of the murders. If a person kills someone for no reason other than their own insanity, then of course it doesn't bother them, They don't have a conscience. They say the only difference between a normal humanbeing and a psychopath is a conscience. There are people out there that have murdered in self-defense, or by accident. I'm sure those people live with a certain amount of pain, although life does go on even in prison. People adapt to their living environment eventually.
