Does anyone get Effexor "brain zaps" ?
Question:
Answers:
Jack's right. The zaps are horrible but they can be avoided by taking your proper dosage regularly. I always got them after two days without it. Good Luck!

People on Effexor and Paxil have reported problems like this. Please talk to your doctor about this and perhaps you can have a medication change. You do not have to deal with this.
I was taking Effexor and it helped me tremendously...I had to change medications because of my insurance....Now I am taking generic Prozac and it isn't as good for me yet...I was told to give it time..It has only been a month since the change.....I am not sure what you mean by "brain Zaps"?
I used to take Effexor, and I got the brain zaps when I would miss a dose, and when I weaned myself off of it. Make sure you are taking it consistently.
Love, Jack.
when i was a teen i was on anafranil which causes the shocks in the head. i'm in my thirtees now and have not needed meds in a long time. (yes depression can go away, there is hope). at times i still have shocks. so i don't know if it is permanent.
