How can I get more energy during the day?

Question:
It doesn't matter how much I sleep at night I still feel groggy all day long with no motivation at all. I take some pysche meds but I have taken them before and this never happened then. Any kind of pointers or advice would definately help.

Answers:
since ive been getting up earlier in the mornings and going swimming ive noticed i have a lot more energy later on in the day. If i sleep really late in the day i'm always more tired and de-motivated through the day which is weird. Get up erlier (as long as you still get enough sleep) and do some exercise in the mornings. You might feel a bit tired straight after the exercise but after a while you will be full of energy! well - thats the theory, worked 4 me!

Other Answers:
Break your meals from 2-3 giant meals to 5-6 smaller ones. Eat helathier throughout the day, and switch to green tea and ginger tea instead of coffee.

vitamin B-12 stop taking the meds read what they say on the back. What are the effects of taking them. To get nore energy you can go out and do some exercise or some swimming.

It sounds hormonal.

The #1 hormone - because it can affect the production of all the other hormones - is insulin. Ask your doctor for a fasting insulin blood test . Ask for a copy of your results. 10 or higher is abnormal for an adult.

Also ask for a saliva test. This test will tell you if any of your feminine hormones are not at the best levels.

Your symptoms (all of them) could be related to low blood sugar. They sound quite like mine, the grogginess and lack of motivation. You may want to check out www.hufa.org, and click on the symptoms link to check yourself out.

Even though you have been on your medication for a while it still may be the culprit if you are otherwise healthy and are sleeping well. Your body can change it's reaction to a medicine at any time regardless of how long you have been taking it.

If your diet is good (not too much protein and fat and not too many carbs) and you are getting all the vitamins you need and are drinking your 8 glasses of water then you might want to ask your doctor about this.

Do you have broken up sleep, this can make you tired or do you have sleep apnea? Make sure you have a good supported bed, with good ventilation in your room. Also I read that if you have alot of electrical things in the room you sleep, for instance computers, TV, Stereo this can disturb your rest. Some people also sleep better facing different directions like N.S.E.W. Not saying for sure if there is any thing to this or not, but I sleep better facing the East and some times I have to switch and face the west. Just something to try, don't hurt any. Also getting lots of exercise and eating antioxidants would help. A simple bloodtest.for a low underactive thyroid. Just a blood test. If it's low you will feel just the way you describe.

You need to let your doctor know how you're feeling, there are several blood tests that can be run to see if hormones are at fault, or if it's blood sugar. It might be simply that you need to have your meds changed or adjusted. Do what's best for you, and make that appointment.
