I have them sometimes...you really have to calm yourself down and take deep breaths...they usually go away if I calm myself down and sometimes I try the paper bag thing, where you breath in and out...it helps...also speak to your doctor!!, they can give you more suggestions and stuff!

When you find out let me know,I've been trying for 3 years now.No medicine I take seems to help so far.I have vertigo too which I think makes it worse.I just gave up trying to drive.
I have had them for over 18 years now, so I think that we all will have to just learn to live with them. How bad are yours? My doctor has giving me xanax for mine and I wont take it. They make me feel loopy. So I just try to do something different than what I'm doing when then panic hits. Like read a book, or I talk to someone about something else. don't think about the panic. I know it's hard no too, but you can and it will help.

I have had Panic attacks for 20 yrs. The first thing to realize is that they can't hurt you. There are good medications such as Paxil and Prozac, theres usually take between 4 to 6 weeks to build a therapeutic level in you body. The doctor can also prescribe a anti anxiety med like ativan or Klonapin. These medications act quickly ( in about 30 minutes) The help calm you and stop the attack, but are short acting and are addictive. I take Prozac in the morning and have ativan as needed up to 3 times a day. Since I've been on the Prozac I very rarely need to take the ativan. Therapy can also help..they will teach you relaxation and breathing techniques that help also. Hope this info helps..Panic attacks can be horrible.
talk to ur doctor hun i have them worse like at night time and i feel like my throat is closing up and my chest feels heavy. i take effexor and xanax for this because months ago i drank a lot bevause it seemed to be the only thing that would work for them.
The people I know must take medication. Meditation, yoga, and deep breathing can also hold off an attack. See your doctor for a complete list of things you can do to take control of your life again. God bless!
find out what causes them. it must be a fear of something. when you figure out what you're afraid of, attack your fear. i know it will be difficult from personal experience, but things rarely turn out as badly as you fear. courage always wins out over fear.
it's fear of failure that stops most people. Not failure itself. Fear of failure. Fear of failure stops most people from even attempting but once they muster up the courage to attempt what they fear, they find it's not so bad even if they do fail, they learn something that doesn't work and armed with that knowledge you're more likely to succeed on your next attempt.
