It's when parents can't handle little boys and put them on drugs so that they will act more like little girls.
It's a brain-based condition caused by a chemical imbalance in parts of the brain. If you love someone who has it, I would strongly encourage medical treatment. Lack of treatment, in most cases, only leads to frustration and underachivement.
well honestly here its become a bit more of an EXCUSE than a medical condition. in my opinion it has alot to do with LAZINESS as a parent in the early stages of child development - eg - kids plopped in front of TV.. the fast pace of TV surely contributes to the kids lack of attention on slower tasks..
drinking caffinated colas
being raised in day cares (alot of chaos)
and apparently from what i read, spending too much time inside and not enough time with actual nature.
Definition of ADD is Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Well really familiar with this subject..lol. ADD.. stands for Attention Defficet Disorder. this means that a child has a hard time concentrating on certain subjects, or things.. His mind wonders alot, simply because he/she can not focous at the task in hand.. ADHD.. Attention Defficet Hyper Activity Disorder. basically the same thing, only with the hyper involved. A child has to constantly be moveing.. can not stay in one place too long, has trouble even sitting down to watch a movie, eat, do school work,, This is being found alot more common than it used to be. Teachers are trained to look out for symptoms in students. The earlier this is cought the better.. Children usually outgrow both ADD and ADHD.
Haveing this is hard on children, because they can not understand why they have a hard time learning, or even makeing friends. Its hard on the parents also.. because they have to learn to be just alittle more patient, understanding that this is something their child can't help, but it
can and will be nerve racking,, i have 2 children (now teens..19 & 14 ) and they both suffered from one of the other.. lucky they have out grown most of their symptoms.. except my fourteen year old he still has so much energy.. I get tired watchin him.lol.
If you are a parent wanting to know more about this disorder you can find information at your local library..or go on Google and type in ADD< ADHD i'm sure you will be routed to quit a few resources. or you can talk to your Childs doctor and he can refer you to more information.. There is also meds. that can help with this disorder,, your child may have to try a few to see what works best for him/her. But you will find relief in some information..
Also let me add this. alot of children are diagnosed with ADD, when they actually just have a learning disability. this being said i will give you and example. my son was diagnosed with ADHD, which he did have.. but after aseries of test.. i also learned that he had a Audio deficiency. another words.. along with the hyper part.. he had a hard time with school work simply because what he was reading, he didn't understand.. as long as he was being tought audio he did find.. he also is a hands on person.. he learns quicker if some one shows him how instead of just giving instruction. this is someting else you may want to check into..Either way good luck with the outcome..
