Answers:
I have two kids and I help my mother with my two sisters. Sometimes my brain just gets confused and I can't even think of one name. Other times I go through the list and give up saying whoever you are blah blah blah. I think with me I'm just distracted with the other million things running around in my head. I didn't start doing it until i had kids. My mom always did it and i'd try to help her with the name she was looking for. It was kinda funny then, but i get aggervated at myself. I should know my kid's name. LOL, oh well!

Have kids and you'll find out what that;s all about! LOL. We did it, too, and I hated it when my mother did it!

i think it's just old age. my grandma tells whole stories using the wrong names. I don't know what it is called but my mother had it and I inherited it from her. I do know that if your first name is matched with your middle name, you were in deep poop!

Forgetful or old age!!

that's not normal "old age", it sounds like a form of dementia. "word salad" is a term for severely incoherent speech that is usually seen in the disorganized type of schizophrenia.
