Jen your depression is not going to go away by it's self. and depression that is left untreated can be devastating and sometimes fatal.i have suffered from depression since high school however it was not diagnosed until i had a complete breakdown in 1993. the breakdown included 3 major suicide attempts in 9 months, recovery and finding stability was a long difficult journey from that point.do yourself a favor and seek help now before your life has the chance to spiral further out of control. you can get better i did i have been stable now since 1997 with the help of ongoing medication and therapy. call your local mental health center/clinic and ask to be evaluated. also look into joining some support groups in your area. good luck.

i was in bed for about 3 weeks. I finally told myself to get up and move or else it would never get better and with time and the support of friends and family, it did.
Clinical depression must be treated by a medical doctor for medication and a therapist for mental health. Being bed-ridden does not mean you are depressed. Some depressed people never sleep.
Best is a combination of medication and behavioral therapy. Go to a good Psychiatrist who listens to your concerns and is not quick to prescribe addictive medications.

Part of the behavioral therapy involves getting up and getting dressed and getting out of the house, in spite of not wanting to do so.

Depression is hard to manage, but it can be done! Don't give up 5 minutes before the miracle! Good luck & GOD bless.
Been there i would not leave my house for the longest time for nothing.I am 23 and been fighting this for a few years got on some meds and ya they work but you got to also fight for yourself not to be like that, it is hard just keep saying i can do this, i can get out. Do small things at first work your way up so you dont feel like you took a step and fell back 20.
