My cousin is always saying sorry and excusme or small things?

Question:
he probly says it ever minute. and hes ssays srry i almost spit on your food. srry that i touched you. and it gets really annoying. they are going to take him to a thereapist but they have to wait two months. this just started happening the only thing that has changed with his life style is that he got two baby brothers he is 8 years old. his teacher has complained to his parents

Answers:
Is he the oldest? The Birth Order book by Kevin Leman will help explain some of the behavior. Also, they can look at how the adults interact with him. Is he constantly blamed for things and made to feel responsible when anything goes wrong? It may help to find ways to build his self-esteem.

Other Answers:
why does that brother you wouldn't it be worst if he didn't have any manners at all

may just be good manners I didn't know it was a bad thing to have manners..especially an 8 year old. I think the teacher needs therapy..

He is insecure, unsure of himself. His parents have to include him with the younger ones all the time. He was the only focus for years. Why people use therapists is ludicris. They have to be a parent for all the children, not just the latest one.

well , babies are fragile things , he knows this , he is being carefull . but might not be getting enough attention. i think its something normal , you shouldnt treat him any differently than you used to , thereapy might help keep him quiet but hes an 8 year old. .. . so nothing for sure.

His excessive apologies may be a sign that he is yelled at, screamed at, and verbally abused at home for small things. Children who react by apologizing are sometimes just "sorry" they're there. Unfortunately, this child needs a lot of understanding and a lot of patience.

Just be kind to him. He's doing the best he can. He's probably told he's in the way all the time, or that he's messed up something, or "Why are you so clumsy," or "Don't touch me, I'm busy," or "I don't have time to help you.leave me alone."

After hearing messages like that, he's probably just covering his bases. "I'm sorry I was born."

Be sweet to him.
