What do you do about nightmares?
Question:
Answers:
Depends. Are they repeating nightmares? I mean, are they all pretty much the same thing?
If you have a repeating nightmare (like I did), then before you go to bed think of a way out of the situation, a solution. Imagine having the dream, but with the solution working. That night, you will probably have the dream with the solution, for the last time. This worked for me.
nightmares are just a metaphore for what is happening to you in really life just like other dreams
I know they are scary and feel real and that I hate them. =[ . i know how you feel!
Just do not be stressed and you will turn out fine.
do not go to bed on a completly full stomach. and you wil stop having mares
Call me hippytrippy, but write down your nightmares and see if you can spot any patterns in them. The pattern might not always be that obvious, so get a few dream dictionaries from your local library (They're all different, and all focus on different things if you delve into them deep enough).
Then, if you can, do something about whatever's causing your nightmares.
drink a nice warm cup of green tea just before you got o bed. Use head phones to listen to music while you go to sleep. Both have seemed to have helped me.
You need to relax. Most things in life you have to do for yourself and really your the only one that feels when your relaxed. What do you like doing? Go have some fun, forget about drama and you should sleep better.

I don't really know how to answer your question, but I still have nightmares of my three tours in Vietnam, I usually get out of bed and just stay up for at least an hour or two drinking coffee. It doesn't cure them but seems to help.
i know how you feel, i don't sleep because of mightmares.
did you ever try and write your nightmares out on paper? my therapist just told me that a few weeks ago. he mentioned that i should try and write what is scary about it and then rip them up. i'm not sure if it works or not, i haven't tried it. i hate having nightmares so i can understand.
