Sleeping and dreaming problems - somtimes I struggle to wake up!?

Question:
Okay everyone has a hard time when the alarm goes off. Not what I mean. I have extremely vivid dreams and I know that I am dreaming. They aren't nightmares they are wierd but not bad. I try to wake myself up from the dream state and can't. It's a struggle to come out of it. When I do , somtimes I haven't. That is to say on more than one occasion I have dreamt that I am awake that I have woken myself only to find later that I have not. I have had multiple dreams that I woke up and told my wife all about the "dream" I just had only to wake up later and be told that I hadn't moved in hours ..It's confusing it's wierd and well wierd . I feel I am going too deep into the sleep and have for many years. What is it ? Is it common? Is it fixable? Is it dangerous? The dreams are of other worlds and other dimentions I talk to the dead I fly I control matter etc etc.

Answers:
Your subconscious is keeping you in a dream state because something in your personal life is really affecting your mindset. You need to figure out what the hell your subconscious is trying to tell you. Write down all your dreams and keep them in a dream book. Tell your wife to wake you up in the morning.or put two alarm clocks by your head on either side..before you go to bed at night tell yourself that you will wake up at 6am and will not be late for work.do it every night.if your taking naps dont. Find a way to de-stress from your regular life because your living out a fantasy world in another life you don't belong in. Average your sleep cycle to 8 hours.even on the weekends.8 hours of sleep.I think your body is going through more REM cycles then needed..on average 4-5 cycles of REM is normal.you might have more. Go to your doctor and see a specialist who can monitor your sleep cycles.they hook electrical pulses to your brain and monitor your REM and how long you stay under. More importantly find out what your subconscious is trying to tell your.is it family, work, personal.sound like something from your childhood thats been with your for a while. Also see a therapist and I wouldn't suggest medication unless it was absolutely necessary.there is medication that regulates long sleep as well and short sleep.

Other Answers:
You are probably experiencing sleep paralysis, or a form of it. You have to lie real still and succumb to it, and right before you go back to sleep completely, SNAP UP with a jolt. It takes a few times to master this.
If you have dreams that your waking up to find that it is a dream; then wait till your alarm clock wakes you up. Stop worrying about it, it doesn't matter.

If you have trouble waking up, you will be sleeping for too long, like 11 or more hours.

If you want to see a doctor about it you can.

But, it is probably nothing.

Unless of course your on drugs. See a doctor.
Since we have to consider the different types of dreams as well as their purpose, let's delve into a couple of those types; prophetic & those directed toward working things out (within the mind) at the subconscious level.

I feel you are either a very busy person or the reverse. Should it be the latter, you would have some feelings of guilt you would have to attempt to deal with. The flying and other descriptions you bring forth do suggest you are in a state of self acceptance. but, allow your conscious mind to begin the questioning.. rather than accepting the message you are receiving.

The deeper sleep indicates you are reaching a higher level brain wave and it does allow you to experience things that would not normally be evident in dreams of others.

It now behooves you to attempt to gain a greater understanding of the what and why you are having these dreams. Also, why you are being allowed to reach those higher level brain waves. This should be an exciting educational experience for you. All you have to do is try to understand the message in each dream. Try writing them down when you wake up.. then watch the trend of subsequent dreams.. they should develop a pattern for you.

There is one other alternative thought. it is not beyond the realm of possibility that you are experiencing petit mals.. which do become reflected in those brain waves.. if you are overly concerned, may want to have those checked out.
Woah! I totally have that too! I'm glad someone else does. I looked a while back and there is no true explanation for it. I did read that no one has died from it-so I wouldn't worry. I find it really interesting and look forward to it to be honest!
this only happens to me when I sleep on my back, so I always sleep on my side now
The other answers are long and difficult.
I can tell you exactly what's going on.

Short and simple: You're moving to the other world.
There are three worlds: the physical, the spiritual, and the mental.
You balance your consciousness on all three.

HOWEVER. In your case, your consciousness is out of balance. You're more connected to the mental/dream world than the other two.

Solution: Balance it out. Become more connected to the physical and spiritual worlds.

I hope I helped.
