Anyone want to tell me their story about schizzo affective disorder?

Question:
I have been diagnosed with this disorder and would like some insight into others and their experiences, personal or otherwise.

Answers:
I was first diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder about 4 years ago. Then my psychiatrist changed my diagnosis when I had some bizarre thoughts while I was depressed. I was in denial for a long time about this new diagnosis because it is a very terrifying feeling when you find out that you cannot trust what you think all of the time. I have never heard voices, but the doctor said he thought I did in a way. I do not know what he meant by that comment, but it doesn't really matter.
Meds I take...Effexor, Lithium and Seroquel (which I have cut the dose way down). I work, attend school and am getting on with my life, so it doesn't have to be your life. Good Luck!!
It's better than being a schizophrenic., I once described it to a friend, and I told him "It's kind of like being schizophrenic, but you're aware of it. You're aware that you're delusional, but you can't do anything about it." And he said "Well, what would you rather be?" Ever since then, I've learned to live (be at peace) with the disorder, because it's not as bad as schizophrenia.
