Would you be shocked if..?

Question:
Would you be shocked if you were over at someones house and found a prozac bottle on the counter? How shocked would you be and would you think differently of them? Can you tell us about that?

Answers:
No, I wouldn't be shocked & it wouldn't change the way I think of them.

Other Answers:
Why be shocked? There is nothing to be ashamed about depression. At least they have sought out treatment
If it were mine ,I might be worried but its their business. It would not concern me at all.
I wouldn't be shocked cause that person needed help and they got it. so I would be happy that person got help.
b4 making any judgements find out if its really his/hers.and even if it is, its ok, its common these days. Life is tough..
no you are too judgeMental !!
i wouldnt be shocked, i'd ask for some;.. just kidding
Lots and lots of people take prozac, so I wouldn't be shocked. It just means that person was feeling like they needed help and they are trying something. Perfectly normal and understandable.
i wouldnt give a rats ***,except thinking they are weak for having to take pills.be a man for christs sake.
It would really depend upon the person whose house it was. Reactions would range between complete understanding to barely-concealed hilarity.
If the prozac was not perscribed to them I would be concerned. But if it perscribed than its not a big deal. Many people have problems they just don't talk about and need to have medication in order to be balanced. I take anti depressants and no one looks at me as a different person, accept that I seem happier. Its not a big deal at all.
No I wouldnt think different of them. Maybe they are going through a really tough time, or had a death in the family, or stress or anything serious enough that a doctor would put them on the meds. People on these kinds of medications are people just like you and me, they need something to help them through the tuff times.. Its part of life..
I wouldn't be shocked. I wouldn't care. And I definately wouldn't think differently about them. I'm happy they're getting what they need to treat their illness.
Shocked because someone I knew was taking Prozac? Prozac is taken by hundreds of thousands of people to combat a very real and serious illness. I would be no more shocked than if I found out my friend was on a low salt diet.
this medication is used by millions of people daily, why be shocked you dont know their circumstances
No not at all. I had to take Lexapro a couple years ago for an anxiety disorder. Finding someones anti-depressant bottle will simply assure me that I'm not the only one who suffers from emotional disorders. Most people have some kind of medical condition whether it's physical or mental.
why the shock? every one is depressed in a way or another. it is good that they are aware of it and get treatment for it. nothing is wrong with that. instead of you being shocked you should help them and support them instead of rebelling.
I wouldn't be shocked at all, I know too many people that are on antidepressants -- there's no shame in getting the help you need, and depression is very common. I would never think differently of them to the point where I tried to distance myself from them or felt superior, but I may feel differently if this was something I hadn't expected.like wonder if I'd missed some signs of their illness. Then again, if the medication is working properly there probably shouldn't be any signs.
It depends on whose house I was in. I mean some people seem to be a little flighty or stressed and that would be normal to find it if the person had already showed signs of depression or anxiety before, which I had noticed. It might appear strange if I did not know the person well or even if I did, and thought of them as having it all together and nothing bad going on with them.
But that is just about as far as it would go.

I would never think differently of the person, yet it may make me see that everyone has problems in some way and that they are just human as well. I would be happy for them actually trying to get help for whatever problem they have. That is better than them suffering. It is just like any other medical condition--it needs to be treated. I also think that if the person has major emotional problems that they should be seeing a counselor to talk about those issues and not just take a pill. The medicine can only help relieve some of the symptoms and the counseling can help them find the source of their problem--and help them see more clearly.
I might be shocked if I didn't know they were depressed. But I'd be happy that they were getting help, because that's the main thing!
Of course I wouldn't be shocked. Would you be shocked to find out that someone had a headache and took Tylenol? There is NOTHING wrong with taking medicine that you need. I would be shocked if I found meth on my friend's counter or crack. But not Prozac. Give me a break.
Hmm. well I might ask them for a bit, aparently you can get high of prozac, but no, I wouldn't think any differently of my friend, although if they needed help I'd try to help him/her
I feel more shocked these days when someone is not on any medication.
I don't find prescriptions shocking.
Are you on Prozac?
is that why you need to know what people think?
I hope that's it because otherwise I think less of you than someone who takes medication.
I don't like people who snoop in other peoples medicine. It usually means they're looking to steal drugs.
