What is a normal clonazepam dosage?

Question:
i'm hovering at 1.5mb right now but i am building a tolerance, i'm going to check with my doctor and see what i can do, but since it's sunday night just wondering if anyone can give me an estimate of how far it is possible to go

Answers:
The initial dose for adults should not exceed 1.5 mg/day divided into three doses. Dosage may be increased in increments of 0.5 to 1 mg every three days. Maintenance dosage must be individualized for each patient depending upon response. Maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg.

The use of multiple anticonvulsants may recruit in an increase of depressant adverse effects. This should be considered before adding Klonopin to an existing anticonvulsant regimen.

I have always taken 1.5 mg (3 of .5 ) at night. My doctor says one can safely take up to 8 mg. a day, but I have never known anyone that takes that much.....when I started building up a tolerance to it, he added 100 mg of Seroquel at night and did not increase the clonazapam....works for me beautifully. I sure wouldn't take more without doctor's advice. it could be that you are going into a manic phase where you don't sleep......that is what I do, but I always call my doctor before I change anything
