I have always taken 1.5 mg (3 of .5 ) at night. My doctor says one can safely take up to 8 mg. a day, but I have never known anyone that takes that much.....when I started building up a tolerance to it, he added 100 mg of Seroquel at night and did not increase the clonazapam....works for me beautifully. I sure wouldn't take more without doctor's advice. it could be that you are going into a manic phase where you don't sleep......that is what I do, but I always call my doctor before I change anything
