Why did the psychologist ask if i wanted to kill myself?

Question:
Do they usually ask that?

Answers:
It's routine. Pyscologist people say that talking about suicide does not encourage one to do it. I don't know if I agree. Either way, It's standard procedure, because if you do, then he has to take action accordingly.

Other Answers:
so they can find out if you want to kill yourself or not
they usually ask if you have ever thought about killing yourself, did you tell him or her that you do or don't. is it a family psychologist maybe your parents told him you had problems.
Because if you don't you just say no and if you do, it makes you think he has all this insight.
yes they do. it's a question of liability. plus genuine concern.
To see if you would be available for more therapy sessions.
I think they want you to say yes i do think of it all the time so they can put you in a psy. ward. Ive been asked that question by 3 different so-called Dr. and ever time i end up in a psy ward. So now if they ask me that i ..( JUST SAY NO) I think the Dr. must be getting a kick back from the hospital for putting me in there, But that just my thoughts on it.
May be they have some good ideas about "How to kill your self".
