Im 42 and have been smoking weed since I was 11.please give me some hints to stop?

You're on the right track! I've also been a weed smoker for about the same time period +/-. I still will smoke it, but not regularly and not habitually. Ive been addicted to coke for many years and found that there is a way to stop. I have not used coke for over 2 years and have absolutely no desire to go down that dark, sad and never-ending road again. Pot it is commonly said, is not addictive.It is actually psychologically addictive as is anything that may provide comfort or relief. Cigarettes, Food, People, TV, etc.
Back to you.. In order to stop,
1. Admit you've got a problem (you've done that)
2. Try to sit in at an A.A. N.A. or M.A. meeting;
You don't have to join or say you're a member, you can if asked (nobody will) say that you're there to gather info for a dear friend that has a problem. At first, just sit in the back and listen. (wear dark sun glasses and a ball-cap) LOL

Why would you want to do that?!?! Just don't do it! I smoked cigarettes since I was 11 and just quit cold turkey. I am 34. I know they are not the same thing, but I have done both and this is what I did. The best thing I did for myself was try to avoid situations that made me want to smoke, like the bar and drinking. I also steered clear of people who smoked for a little while-just till the cravings weren't making me crazy. It will be hard-but just keep away from the people and situations that made you want to smoke. It WILL GET BETTER.it just takes time! Good luck, and congratulations on taking the first step towards quitting!
I think that it is great that you want to stop. I applaud you for that. I know that it is easier said than done when someone tells you to just simply stop, especially since it is a habit that you have had since age 11. Kicking an addiction is not easy. My opinion is find something that you like doing besides smoking and reward yourself day after day with it. Motivate yourself day after day with a calender showing your days that you have gone without smoking.
Affirmations at nightime until u fell asleep. Maybe say something in your mind like weeds taste bad and maybe like "whatever" and it's bad and u don't like it. Repeat these everynight, and one day u'll pewk after smelling weeds.n Well, plant positive affirmations into your sub-concious mind~;)
