Over 30's please.do you take time to play?
Question:
I started to make a rubber band ball this am, while watching the morning news and it's fun and good exercise for my fingers and I can't wait to get it big and take it out back on the patio and see how high it bounces.
What do you do for play to de-stress and feel like kid again? Even it's just a few minutes a day.
Answers:
Great question. I basically grew up at 12 years old.
I think it's high time I reconnect with that. Sounds like fun!
I think I'll go make a few paper airplanes and freak a few people out at the park while they have dog fights.

I got young kids so i gotta play allot (thats my excuse heehee)
my fiance and i flew kites at the park a few weeks ago.oh and for daily fun i just laugh at about anything (not serious of course) the more you smile and laugh the better you feel I am 58 and wish I could take more time to do just that. I spend a lot of time on this PC as I am a disabled Vietnam Vet, but the limit of my playing now days is with my cat, Ben.
I play with my six year old twin neighbors. There is nothing like following the lead of a child to get you de-stressed. Sunday, the game was to swing on the swingset and lean back to look at the sky. For those few minutes, I was a kid again. Their laughter is the best kind.
45 years old and still love to play. I still blow bubbles, play in the mud and water. Draw pictures and color in color books. I don't think you should ever give up the joy of playing. Besides, it's fun.
I play scrabble with my kids. Sometimes I sit and watch old cartoons or television shows that were popular when I was young. Jumping rope is fun, coloring with fresh Crayola crayons relaxes me and drawing with sidewalk chalk is fun, too. I blow bubbles 3-4 times a week.My dog loves to chase them and that makes me laugh so much.my stress level goes away as soon as I get the bottle and his tail starts wagging . Before I got my dog, I would de-stress by playing Atari Arcade Hits on the computer..love centipedes.Reminds me of when I would go to the arcade at the mall and spend my allowance on that and air hockey.
I agree with Gordon; I play with my kids a lot. I take them to movies that I would be embarrassed to go to alone. What a great excuse to act childish. I certainly have to set a good example for them and act mature all too often, but there isn't anything wrong in joining in on the fun. Go ahead.fly paper airplanes off the highest balcony, do canon balls into the pool, swing on the swings (as long as they can hold your weight), but set a good example at the same time. Don't splash people in the pool that you don't know or people that don't like it, pick up your paper airplanes when you're done, and don't cheat at board games. Playing is important for people of all ages, and being a stuffy uptight adult is just plain wrong.
Hea guy I am a Vietnam Vet myself and 61 years and also 100 phycially challenged.. but I have never stopped playing.. it is good for the heart and soul..I love Video games.. especially shooting up games.. before I started to play these games I had awful nightmares but it seems the more I play them the better I feel it to me lets a lot of aggression out. I also have two teenage daughter, and they are always calling me a big kid. We play backgammon,, cribbage,, jacks, even candy land. I tought them Chinese checkers.. which now they beat the pants off of me.. I also have an 81 year old Friend he come over to my house Monday Thur Friday brings me a D&D coffee and we play cribage also.. My segustion is never be a afriad of leting that little kid in you out you won't believe how good you feel afterwards.. My grils and their freinds look at me sometimes like I am crazy but like I tell them, I might be crazy but I am having fun doing it..So for you I will give you a smile and a giggle and a great big ha raa, One last thing Thank You For Coming back to the world,, and for what you did for your country..
Playing is such a stress reliever. I like to color or play with Playdoh. Especially when it it home made. Bubbles are great and the cats love them. I like any kind of crafts and working with my hands. Using the artisitic right side of the brain and giving the left a break. does watching the older cartoons count? on Saturdays for about an hour, brings me back to a happier time I guess?!
