Whilst it is possible to learn hypnotic techniques at home, it will not make you a well trained hypnotherapist which means that you may not give patients the best service, may cause them trauma and dent the reputation of hypnotherapy as a powerful and effective treatment.
You cannot beat attending a recognised training course where you can practice techniques on fellow students. There are several around, I suggest you look at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis's training courses (www.lcch.co.uk); the LCCH is internationally recognised and also trains medical personnel
