In a serious post-natal depression can hormones help in the cure?

Question:
After giving birth the first time this person landed in a serious lengthy depression; it never really disappeared and after giving birth the second time there was a period of about 2 months after the birth in which she felt very happy and stable but in the third month the depression came back: there is no feeling of love or responsibility towards the children, there is a lot of guilt towards her family, there is intense fatigue, there is the feeling of "why go on?" Normal help, anti-depressiva and therapy have not given any results, although the person is in daily therapy. There is a feeling that iher depression might be hormone-related. Does anyone have any info on this and is there anyone out there who has had the same and has been helped successfully and with which medicines or therapies? (Europe°

all post-natal (postpartum) depression is hormone related if your friend is not seeming to get better she needs to seek help from another (different) doctor. SHE SHOULD BE SEEING BOTH A THERAPIST AND A PSYCHIATRIST, and she should also join a support group for other moms going thru the same thing

If you try the homeopathic route suggested by "Soul_Doctor" I'd enjoy learning the results. I see a Naturopath (ND), & have used 'it' on other problems.
However, there are several other things one can do to optimize even the effects of homeopathy .

I hope your 'PPD-affected-person' gets well soon! Sincerely,
