I try to calm myself by repeating, " She's GONE now- you divorced her."
This helps a lot.
Concentrate on bringing myself back to reality. Go back to sleep.
I try to forget all about it. Sometimes they can make you feel weird all day though. Just remember its a dream and move on, soon enough you'll have forgoten all about it.

What I do is recreate the dream again, and change the outcome to my benefit. I put a happy ending to it, meaning, I am in control, not the dream Think it over. It was just a dream and can't really hurt you but can be rather disturbing. By going straight back to sleep you might have the same recurring dream. Think it over and run it through your mind, figure out what frightened you and then deal with it from there; try making it a silly dream by making the 'bad thing' whatever it may be, poof into a dozen daisy's. I usually try to tell myself the details of the bad dream . that makes them fade away pretty effectively. Then I go back to sleep. If I can't relax, I get up, have a drink, read a little, and then go back to sleep.
Bottom line, you just have to give yourself time rember it's a dream and forget what the dream was all about. Turn a light on. I can't fall back asleep unless I do.
