Yeah I would really like to know this as well, I have the same problem, I am a worry wart!. If there is anything to worry about, count on me to be doing the worrying!. It's really not fun at all!. Good question though!
meditate
Make a list of the things that worry you. When you see them written down you will realize how ridiculous they are. The chances of them actually happening are slim to none and the rest you have no control over. Read The Serenty Prayer when you get really stressed. It does work.
go get a massage
Take yourself mentally away from the thoughts. You can think of a place that is peaceful like a warm beach and picture it anf try to hear the sounds of the waves. Make sure that when you do this, you are not driving though!
see a therapist....

Maybe you should talk to a friend about your issues. Probably a female friend because they are more likely to listen & give a real answer.
There's a book called, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff". It's pretty good. Also, could get treated for anxiety disorder or go to counselling where they teach you to say, "who f***ing cares, I'm doing the best I can".
let it go hon and let the lord handle not only the small things but the big things too you will feel so much better
When you find out really good ways, tell me.
But I have looked up funny things,
if you go to Googles video pages and watch small clips there it is entertaining,
or youtube.com
I watched pranks there and omg, theres this one where this guy puts a fake skeleton dude on a motorbike and talks through a mictrophone making people believe its the skeleton talking,
drives the motorbike down a street at nightwaiting for some people to walk down it and scares the crap outta em!
its so funny!
Stuff like that gets me outta my depressed mood, or worried mood. :)
Hope I helped you!! Good luck !
The Bible says "Cast your cares upon him [Jesus] for he cares for you." Of course, this only applies if you have been born again.
Practice yoga under supervision of some yoga experts., This not only good but also helps to avoid sicknesses
relax take it easy. have fun
Remember that it's all in your head. A lil bit of OCD is normal I guess.
Just leave the house and do stuff. Helps.
Everybody does so don't go thinking you're different. The less you have to worry about the more focused you become on the little things that never bothered you before ..... and if you ever get to the stage where you genuinely have NOTHING to worry about, you'll probably invent something. So don't worry about it!!
It's easy for someone to suggest meditation or just "stop thinking" about what troubles you, but it sounds like you are preoccupied to the point where your worries are taking over your life.
If that's the case, it's time to see a psychiatrist who can prescribe medication to decrease your preoccupations, and then psychotherapy (talking) with a psychologist once a week or so.
Get busy on this before you do something drastic! You sound very depressed. Depression is easily treated with medications. If you don't see someone soon your preoccupations will only get worse.
I know exactly how you feel and I do the same at times, somedays there is nothing I can find to deal with it and others I will go to my msn group and work on my family history, other days will chat online with strangers from a dating site or a place to meet new friends and there I find it a releif to be able to chat and get great advice from others and also at the same time I have found others with the same issues and we soon become great friends. You can also try going for a walk, play a game, call a friend or relative and talk to them, get a dog and take it for walks and or train it to do special tricks.
These are just a few things I do. my sister used to write poems, and I ha a friend who wrote songs.
Worry is fear. We fear to lose something. We may fear to lose a mate, a job, our health, our home, or children. Fear paralyzes us. Worry is wasted energy. Just as guilt cannot change the past, WORRY CANNOT CHANGE THE FUTURE. Gather together 1000 people to worry over tomorrow, and it will have absolutely no effect.
The search for security is an illusion. In ancient wisdom traditions, the solution to this whole dilemma of security lies in the "wisdom of uncertainty", or the wisdom of insecurity. This means the search for security, or certainty, is actually an attachment to the known. The known is our past. The known is nothing more than the prison of your own past conditioning. There is no evolution in that - absolutely none at all. When there is no evolution, there is stagnation, entropy, disorder and decay.
Fear of not being able to survive paralyzes us from engaging with life; it holds us back from everything we attempt to accomplish. Humans are perpetual self-learning entities. Everything we do in life, small or large, is motivated by our will to survive. We mentally record events and behaviors that support our survival. Then we repeat that behavior throughout our life, even if that behavior becomes self-destructive. When you are willing not to survive, you will thrive. http://taobarbie.com
gotta destress by doing more yoga
if there is somthing i cant do anything about i drop it from my mind ... if it somthing else that i can do somthing about i just do it asap ....i used to really freak about everything like even getting my tag renewed on the car or paying a bill ... i just attack things head on now. If i lost my job tomorrow i would be out the next day getting another one ... if i wasnt making enough to cover my expenses i would be out getting a second job ... i wouldnt worry about it ... i do what i have to do then its all just routine. Other things like i used to always worry if i was good enough for my wife or girlfriends ... now its just not worth worrying about. I dont know if ive learned to completely love myself but i did learn to at least like myself and have alittle faith in myself that i can handle anything that comes my way .. it always helps to when somthing just feels alittle too much for me just to get on my knees and cry my eyes out to God and ask for alittle strength ... He always comes through.
take my word "never anticipate the course of events". it never fetches anything. its easier said than done, i know but there is nothing wrong in making efforts to free ourselves of the unnecessary clutter that we seem to gather in life. everything begins with choice, at least most of them, so choose to engage mind in activities that enrich self and soul.
next time a thought pops up, try to be more rational and understand the mechanism of worry. believe me, worry will never fetch anything...just "mental drain". running away from the issue will not help at all, instead tackle it..confrontation is the key word here.
lastly we all have problems in life...its part of the "sin" we acquired from our ancestors. zero in on the exact issue that is numbing mind and then find ways to eliminate the cause for the worry in life. most often, we worry over those events that seem pointless ultimately. i always take responsibility for my actions. saves so much time, i dont get to blame anyone for life events.
Sounds like you have a very good grip on things. You have identified your obsessive worrying and addressed it at such. I don't think you have a worrying problem at all.
You have already acknowledged that you obsess over "inevitable" things and things you "can't do anything about."
A very clear self awareness is not common in true depression.
"hospitalbed" being your nickname on here? I would have to wonder..........
Why not learn to control what you allow your mind to think about.. You also may want to examine your mind and find out why there is insecurity still hanging on! Onset is usually from childhood.
You have two option Meditation or medication. Choose one and make your life colorful.
simplify your life, think of other thing besides your problems, i use to go to bed worrying about bills and family and wake up worrying,i got sick from it ( panic attacks) if your cant get ahold of the problem go see a doc and get help
