I was spiked by unknown party during a works night out. I am not sure of the exact drug but was probably (police say) rohypnol or GHB, the Date-rape wonder drugs.
FYI - (you cant tell from user name!) I was a 26 year old man at the time, and am sure the spike was intended for someone else.
I was the Desi Driver for 6 of us, workmates and partners etc. We met at a pub at about 9 pm, and I had 1 pint of lager. At about 10 pm we went into a night club, one of those regional town dives that cater for the inbred population in the area.
ALL of the men in this place were drinking pints of lager, while the women were drinking either wine, spirit mixer or alcopops. As the driver I was drinking Coke.
The police think that someone dropped a spike without knowing I was the target, while I was away from the group. I was obviously surrounded by my friends and (also obviously) not a pretty young female, so they must have spiked then stood back to see what they had hooked. The police call this method "Fishing" or "Baiting" as the rapist trash can throw out a large number of doses, then wait to see what he has "caught"
The effect was quite traumatic in the aftermath. In reality, the drugs had their designed effect, i.e. I was passive and calm and have very little memory of the night. Unfortunately, being under these influences, I was also too out of it to know the situation I was in.
While out of my head on these drugs, I drove myself and 5 friends to locations throughout hertfordshire and north London.
My memories are few and far between. I remember stopping twice, once so a friend could drop a custard on the pavement, and once on arriving home when I simply thought "I should NOT have driven home" but there was no feeling of guilt or danger associated with these memories.
It was only when waking up with a cracking "hangover" and speaking with my work colleagues that I put two and two together. I called the police, and gave a blood test (which was as expected NEGATIVE for alcohol) and this failed to show which exact drug had been administered.
In the meanwhile I had to consider what MAY have happened on that night - imagine this:
I was driving home in a drug induced stupor with five friends and colleagues. None of them noticed I was "drunk" as THEY all were too. I could easily have crashed, killing some or all of us. If the police were unable to find any trace of the drug in my system (as is highly likely) I would be charged with Driving without due care and attention / Manslaughter (Murder 3 for Americans!) And as the drug does it's work, I don't even remember feeling tipsy. I could easily be close to the beginning of a 15 year prison term because of someone else's lust.
As a result of this mess, I take MUCH greater care with my drinks, especially in places I am not familiar with. I also take care of my friends drinks during toilet breaks etc, and always ensure friends get home safely where possible (licensed cabs, walk them, destroyer etc)
I am also much less trusting of strangers in pubs and clubs, and the people who run them. Apparently the same pub in Hartford's had this recurring problem for almost three years, before stopping abruptly at the same time as a local man was sent to prison for an unrelated offence. Apparently 3 women had been raped in this time, and with many going unreported (and in many cases the victims are not even aware of the incident) there may have been many more.
Girls - beware.

no l.ve not . but we all need to keep are drinks with us at all times when we are out. l am a nurse and have looked after people who have had there drinks spiked and to see someone come out of a drinks binge and do all sorts of things they do it is not nice to have to watch or to sit with.

Like slipped a pill in my drink? Or put some booze in the fruit punch? If thats what you mean, then yes, a few times. Once had some grain alcohol in some fruit punch in college and was smashed and everyone had fun drawing all over my face and then I woke up late and ran to class with it, was pretty funny, but i got them back. :) Another time was with a girl and she put some xanax or something in my drink and i woke up next to her in the morning with not a clue what happened. Hasnt effected my social life, except now i never accept mixed drinks when at a friends house or a small bar.

i have spiked, it only helped the situation, for all concerned. if the situation calls for it i may do it again.
I've always said that if anyone spikes my drink with 'Acid', then i will burn their house down. Simple as that.
yes i was in my own house by accident and also i think i was at a party. i had fun but i am completely against alcohol and ive only had like 3 sips in my whole life (16 years) but that party was bangenn..!
I had my drink spiked once when I was a bartender, I had my glass inside the bar but a so-called-friend of my brothers thought it would be funny to put some liquid LSD in it. Well It was NOT a fun trip, nothing could be done but to ride it out. I came very close to prosecuting this person. It's a good thing I had a good friend who could take care of my kid for a few days. I thought I had last my mind. Ended up in the psych ward. That was 23 years ago and I still won't ever forgive him for it.
