Anorexia, why don't people understand it's not just thinking your fat?

Question:
i have chronic anorexia i don't thiknk i'm fat but when i get depressed i don't feel like eating so it's not just thinking your fat

Answers:
I know exactly how you feel. My cousin and I are both trying to recover from anorexia.

For me,I don't even think about getting fat. I just stop eating because I don't feel like it.

Call it stupid or laziness but that's just me. Truthfully.

Other Answers:
Most people have never studdied it before. I watched a movie once in health on how it starts with you being a perfectionist. And I told my friends that and they thought I was just crazy. They were like, "They just think their fat! You are so wrong!" And it drove me crazy! So I found actually data proving it online and showed them! Look who's laughing now!

You should post a question with a link to data proving it to show everyone. Google reasons for anorexia.

Good luck and God bless!

Hun people don't understand what they don't know. Being a recovering anorexic i can vow that for me it had NOTHING AT ALL to do with being fat. I ran into the same problem the first thing people say when they find out "but your not fat". SHUT UP LESS YOU HAVE BEEN THERE PLEASE! I hope you seek help its hard to overcome but if your dedicated you can do it.

People that see me know that i have beaten it always look so shocked I am no longer 5'3 and 92lbs. I am now 5'3 and pushing the 200 mark (i wont give my exact weight as you can surely understand). i don't however think of myself as fat I have had three kids and just never tried to lose any weight due to being WAY TO TEMPTED of going back to my illness. I do how ever like the way i look with more weight the one thing i used to try to hide was my thin chicken legs lol i don't have to worry about those any more. For some people, it starts out that way. Or, they think "if I'm thinner, then my problems in life will go away". Or, it's a distraction from the stresses in their life.

Anorexia is about a lack of control of your life and your issues-- and starving/not starving is one thing you can control.
