Is she sick?

Question:
My best friend has been doing E at school for a week now because it keeps "her mind off food." It is not the E I'm worried about, she's done it a few times at parties and such, it's her eating habits, what's the worst that could happen to her in a week? How much weight would she lose? She's about 5'6 and 125 pounds, but she's not active and she's a binge eater. I hope she loses a few pounds so that she'll be happy with the result and stop doing it. I'd talk to her mom, but last time she got caught doing drugs, she was kicked out. She's an A plus student, pretty and nice and I just wish she'd see that. I know she has recurring clinical depression. What should I do? HELP!!!

Answers:
You need to be there for her- reassure her that she looks great the way she is. Her real problem is her lack of self-esteem, or else she wouldn't be trying to control her weight like that- like you said, she's an A-plus student and pretty. You should try talking to her to find out what's really bothering her. *Make sure that she isn't mixing alcohol with ecstacy as that could KILL her.* If you feel she's getting to where she's being too stupid for her own good, please tell at least the school counselor. They have some confidentiality. When you're backed in a corner like that, you have to do the right thing. Or else you could live the rest of your life in regret knowing you had a choice if something were to happen. If you could choose a friend being mad at you forever, or them possibly hurting themselves, which would you choose?? They'll get over it eventually, possibly thanking you down the road.
i think mabey tell the school burse or your whatever at school that will keep it confidential, also tell her. be up-front with her.
