If we were made to wear our IQ's on our chest, what would you do?
Question:
Answers:
I won't advertise "how smart I am" as I feel this just inflates a persons ego. The fact that some have used this question as a boasting arena should give you some clue as to how people would react if this was made law.
I am also fully aware of what IQ tests actually test for.
There are many different types of intelligence and IQ tests get very little of them, and focus mainly on people's reasoning, maths, & spatial awareness, incl. somethings which are actually society based (i.e, you need previous knowledge for).
I am probably worse at all the other intelligences, and it just so happens my strengths lie where IQ tests look.
I think people who are "intelligent" (in the IQ sense) commonly do look down on others, but this is only through their ignorance. Intelligence doesn't bring wisdom. The most intelligent people seem to have the least life skills (on avg.) for example.
I think it would be silly for people to know & have on display this sort of information about anyone, and can only lead to discrimination.
Therefore I place very little value in a persons IQ.And if someone feels the need to tell me their IQ, then I have to wonder, why did they want to tell me? What other part of them is so lacking that they feel the need to tell others just how intelligent they are!

Well being 138 - I wouldnt be ashamed
nope Frame it with a blinking neon sign attached to a battery.
somebodies IQ is not necesarily an indication for their personality & social skills & sense of humor etc.. so it wouldnt be any different for me i think/hope
I don't care if I have a higher IQ than someone, but I HATE people with no common sense. So, although I put alot of stock in IQ's for academic purposes, it isn't the low IQ's I hate, but people who do not apply the IQ they do possess. Oh, and I do give more respect to someone who I know has a higher IQ than me. I respect intelligence.
IQ only determines how well you take the test, not your intelligence. Whatever my IQ is, I'd wear my shirt inside out with rebellion so no one could see/judge the number. I would wear mine proudly, as it is quite high. I don't need to see someone's posted to know if I am smarter than them or not, nor do I judge them if I am. As long as they treat me with respect, I will do the same for them.
I wish we could but being conceited is an ugly trait. My sister is the one who would have to worry.
i wud wear happily.
bcoz, if i have low IQ ->then i am dumb->which means i will be too dumb to be ashamed out of it
bcoz, if i have high IQ->then i am too intelligent which i will want to show off happily
I don't know mine..but I don't think it matters that much either.kinda like your G.P.A some people made a big deal over it. mine was a 3.77, it's just a guage.I'm smarter than some but yet there are others smarter than me. I can live with that. as for the sunning thing .I can't stand these high class a$$ hole that think they are to good to talk to people of lower class. i think of my self as somewhere in between the two groups .I have some friends that live in new huge houses that are doctors and I have a few that live in apartments or trailers even , people are people we need to look past their "social" status when we are looking for friends not to be conceded and all but i wouldn't be ashamed because my IQ is higher than some others so i wouldn't be ashamed but i don't want where on a shirt because i don't like hurting other ppl's feelings
As someone who gives IQ tests for a living.people can't just look at ONE number.there are a lot factors that make up an IQ score and so looking at a Full Scale IQ does not give you the best indication of someone's true abilities!!
If IQ's were taxed most people would be getting refunds!
Hospital stall: What are you in here for?
Good question. i think intellegence is something your born with and you really can't control it, sure you can go to school but what if you just can't do it? It's like making fun of someone for say having a big nose, they where born that way, sure they could go out and fork out lots of $ and get it fixed, but for what? To make someone else accept them, na.
But to answer your question, I don't care what someones iq, race, gender, or anything like that is, we are all people, and it shouldn't matter
CS+IQ=S
Wear it on my chest as required maybe adding a nice design around it to deflect the number. However in the mean time I would be using my intellect and resources to find out why it was required and then find a way to change the requirement/policy; realizing that it could be or is a possible tool for discrimination/classification. In that way I would be utilizing my IQ.
