What initial side effects can you get when taking Prozac for the first few weeks?

Question:

Answers:
You realy should read the contraindications sheet that came with your meds - they list most side effects.
one of the biggest things for me was the withdrawal! shakes, sweats, paranoia, nausea, panics, the lists really are endless.
Read the sheet and have a proper in depth convo with your dr - take a list of questions with you, and dont be afraid to ask everyone of them, no matter how silly you may feel they are. Also take a pen to write down the answers.
Take care, and look after yourself x

Other Answers:
everything from dizziness and diarrhoea thorugh to breast milk in men and women and thats not discounting suicidal tendancies!

check out the information leaflet its quite alarming!
I know someone who has recently started to take that and she has had dizzy spells, hallucinations, a bit of sickness, I guess she would be better off on something else, but you could be fine on them!
Try taking it at night before going to bed-it will probably make you tired and a bit dizzy and/or spacey at first, so I wouldn't take it in the morning when you have to work or go to school. How many milligrams are you prescribed? If the side affects don't go away in a week or two, I would check w your Dr.

I can't take it during the day-it doesn't wear off for me during the day. It's probably not high enough of a dose if it actually "wears off"

I never had any serious problems and frankly, it works for me. It all just depends on you.
my head sweated a lot, i had a funny metallic taste in my mouth, i had a slight head tremor every once in awhile, loss of sexual interest...
depends on the person and what else there on. mine was a dry mouth but check with your Dr. if anything different has changed.
Do not take it at night, it has a short half- life and will not work effectively in the day if taken at night!!

Well if your prescribed prozak , it should come in a package which will include a leaflet inside. This will state all common and uncommon side effects. But if your worried then consult your doctor, or a proffessional medical expert....
