If in so much as what shall be known of the several ways, and the being of wanting to be is now, therefore the only thing that shall be heard in the light of the dawning is the plaintiff cry of the tormented souls of yesteryear.

I would categorize it as a psychological disorder.

Live and let live... believers are doing you no harm and they're happy for it.
It depends on your belief of God!
No sometimes it's the only thing you've got.
No, but we could treat non-belief as a mental deficiency.
I wouldn't. God cured me of mental illness, so I can't support you on this. I think chronic atheism is an obsession, however, and should be considered a mental disorder.

'nuff said?
no...
Why?
Should we treat disbelief in god as a mental illness?
If your answer is no for this one then it is no for the original question also.
We should treat the belief of any religion to be a mental illness. all religion does is cause trouble
No, rather we should treat it as a mental 'strength'......who else will listen you when you are in real trouble and all hopes die and you want mental peace and strength? Its only HE..

Thanks
No they only treat you for mental illness if you think that you are God or Jesus or Muhammad. My mother worked at a mental hospital for 33 years as a psychologist and she has seen Jesus and Muhammad get into a fight many a time. She even came home from work one day and said she saw Buddha and God fight.
Never, because the mentality part of it comes when one has
sin they are debating in their lives conflicting with the laws of God and it can result in mental dyfunction. So its what one thinks not their belief in God, cause our Father is the only one that keep you
from going insane. The bible says as a man thinketh so is he. So enough get your beliefs in order.
yeah ud have to be mental to belive there is an all mighty all powerful god watching over us... i mean look at the state the world is in and im not just talking about wars n famines. if there was such a being wouldnt it put a top to all the madness now. just my own personal opinion guys so please dont take offence im not running down people who do belive more power to u if u do,i just dont.
Yeah, I'm down
Not really. I don't have a religion or much faith. Religion only becomes a problem when it makes people unable to accept change and let others get on with their life.
Too often we have to listen to the various religions expecting special treatment under the law. All peoples beliefs should be open to criticism.
It becomes difficult, when what people ARE, eg gay, is seen as a belief or a choice. To me, these are not open to criticism in the same way as religion, becuase nobody is born Christian, but it seems people are born gay.
No, we should treat worshipping Satan and his legion as a mental illness. God stands for all that is good in this world. Satan and his demons are responsible for all that is evil and corrupt, and would put those kinds of thoughts in a persons head....Anyone who worships God Almighty and His Son, will have a chance at eternal life, and believe me, all those who put Him down now and worship Satan will pay some day.
Most of the people borrow their belief (whether belief of God or something else) from their parents, their society, the books and etc.
Belief in God is one of the greatest gifts one can have. Some become very unfortunate to the extent of dying without even knowing of the exixstence of God. Because of spiritual short-sight it might appear as mental illness but it is actually a treasure for those who beleive. Please read 2 Corinthians 4 verses 16 to 18 and 1 John 3 verse 2 from The Bible.
no! If you thing that it's a mental illness, then i'm guessing you don't believe in God. Also, it's easy to tell because those who believe in Him/Her(though most people say it's a Him) spell it with a capital.

And i don't know who "WE" is because more than half the people in the world believe in God.
Dare you??!!??
No, it's a belief system that doesn't interfere with normal living.
Now the activity of feeling that one must force belief on all and sundry - that is another question.
too frickin' right
no
Absolutely!
The biggest dillusion you can be under.
definitely
well when it gets bad like bombing for god then yes but going to church and believing in god its fine it gives people calm and happiness
