I'm concerned with the side effects related to the lithium my psychiatrist just prescribed, any help?

Question:
I've been unresponsive to anti-depressants for the last 3 years (since I've been diagnosed with PTSD). I've been on Prozac, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, and Cymbalta (plus a little Xanax thrown in there for anxiety). Now I'm on Wellbutrin and Cymbalta, and we're adding Lithium. Has anyone experienced undesirable side effects? I'm mostly concerned with weight gain. I am very active and eat well (most of the time ;). I've dealt with some side effects from the other meds, and they usually hit me pretty hard.
Anyways, just looking for a little info and support. Thanks!

Answers:
I've taken lithium during crisis hospitalizations. It works well for me, but I can't stay on it long-term. I get really bad tremors in my hands. Renmember, though that we each respond differently to medications. Lithium is usually the first choice in mood stabilizers because it is the most likely to work and for most people has the fewest side effects. Good luck and stick with it!
I can't offer any info but I can offer support. I have the same history as you. I have taken all the same meds and I am on Wellburtin and Lexapro at the moment. I understand your concerns because I too have dealt with it. Just wanted to let you know your not alone. Good Luck!
