i think too much.Is it wrong or abnormal?

How about finding yourself distracted from a conversation or activity by the disruptive chatter in your mind?
If so, then you're heavily invested in thinking. Not always productive, wise or creative thinking . . . but thinking, and usually lots of it.
Most humans engage in a flood of unspoken, private prattle within the confines of their minds. Some shrinks call this "inner dialogue" or "self talk."
Call it what you will, for many of us thinking is the most common, persistent and consuming psychological activity in our lives. Consider how often we begin our statements with "I think . . ."
In fact, some of us think so relentlessly that we never experience anything approaching inner peace and quiet. If you don't buy that, try this "test."
Go somewhere peaceful, sit comfortably and simply try to stop thinking for a few minutes.

Can you think too much? Very interesting question!
Actually there was an article in the Chicago Tribune a while back entitled "Thinking Too Much About Thinking Too Much." Well you can't answer this without thinking about it.... :-)
Well Einstein did not come up with his Theory of Relativity thinking the traditional logical manner but rather by leaving the problem and thinking of a trip he took on a train with his family. He then had sudden insight on the solution and then went back to work out the logical formula. His type of thinking was different but it was still thinking which resulted in the solution.
Imagine if we told Einstein, Shakespeare, and the Dali Lahma not to think so much! God knows we hope our politician would think more! The incredible number of people of all ages in our society who just do not think! How we could solve much of our society's ills if we could just get them to think more!
Then there is something to really be said for clearing one's mind to provide peace of mind. Meditation is quite a wonderful stress reducing method! One of my favorite Meditation sites: http://www.learningmeditation.com/ has a Meditation Room at the bottom & you can click to have some soothing music help you calm your mind!

Not wrong. Not entirely abnormal, either. It just means that you enjoy thinking. It's like saying you're tall- nothing wrong with that, unless you have a problem with it.
Don't sweat it. Most people who are on this site asking questions can't stop thinking anyway.
If you think of positive things, it is normal and happy. If you think about negative, please do not think, it will make you depress.
Hi!
You know its not abnormal to think more. It is useful and some times bad also. One should think on things which r important. Dont waste time and energy in thinking abt things u cant help.
do you mean that your head is constantly filed with thought or that you over think things

how about answering all the questions here at answer.yahoo.com hehehehehe
I think (ah ha!) it's both a blessing and a curse. First, if you think a lot and are able to see the whole picture and then put it into action, you're ahead of the game, but if you think and think and think and never even get off the bench, well, I think (There I go again!) it is a problem.
Asking questions is good (and I mean about anything) but it can also stifle you. I like what one person said, to let go. Often my thoughts keep me up, so I'm not the best to give advice, but I will tell you I don't sit the bench the whole time (I put some of my thoughts into practice.) Maybe you can start writing them all down - you'll get tired of thinking and perhaps can give your brain a rest for a little bit. I'm guessing your brain moves faster than your hand can write or type, but it's a start.
And you know, if you're thinking about large things, like cures for cancer, alternative fuel, predicting and forecasting natural disasters, and the like, wow, excellent, because we NEED big thinkers!
P.S. Find someone that could enjoy philosophizing with you.
i don't think its abnormal but to much is to much just stop yourself. i know its not easy but direct your mind to something else. exercise is good it changes the chemicals in your head. and maybe it will clear your thoughts.. when i think to much i listen to music or take a walk or think about something peaceful. if you cant decide on things then what you do is whatever first pops in your head stick with it! and follow thru! don't go against yourself do what you think is right. your not always going to make the right decision but use what you have at hand and use the information you've got and make the best possible choice that's best for you.
i also think to much but i think its just the type of person you are actually i think all the time and worry but i dont think its because were abnormal just human nature
I don't think it's wrong, nor abnormal. However it can get depressing and frustrating at times. Thats when it can cause problems.
I too, think too much, I have an over excercised imagination. Being bored doesn't help much either, it feeds the need to think more.
Quite often my thinking can lead me to make incriminating assumptions... so frustrating!
I hope that your thinking doesn't get you into too much trouble.
Try not thinking too much in a foreign speaking country, it's even more difficult thinking in more than one language!
nope thinking is perfectly normal, but sometimes if you think too much you begin too analyse everything and that can make decisions difficult.
