What are the best treatments for borderline personality disorder for a female in her 20's?

Question:
I've been on SSRI's and benzos and they help, but sometimes i wonder if a i need a mood stabilizer.

Answers:
What about therapy? Medications alone are not the answer. NAMI.org has a forum for BPD, and it's bipolar forum is very active. I'd check it out- ok? And yes, BPD is often treated with mood stabilizers. But works best in conjunction with counseling and support groups.

Other Answers:
Yep. try some lithium.

Stay on your meds. I think medication and **counselling** are helpful for me.

well, coming from a borderline.in her 30's now, medicine isn't enough.
you need a group as well..
find out if there is a DBT group near you, it will help with skill training, to teach you alternatives to a lot of our programed behaviors.
