What am I experiencing at night? Are they panic attacks?

Question:
I've been having panic attacks for about a month now. Mine are kind of weird, I feel like I need to take a deep breath, but I don't have to. I'm even breathing differently now. I've been to doctors and they say I'm fine, and that it's all up to me.

I can't seem to calm myself down, though.
I have a surgery coming up for my teeth, and yesterday I was worrying about it all day.

Last night, I woke up at around 1 am, feeling dizzy, and scared. I went to the emergency room one time because I had taken aspirin for sleeping, and I was feeling SUPER DIZZY, so my mom took me just to reassure me that I was FINE.

My mom told me to go back to bed and not think about it.
What is happening to me?

I'm even getting a change of appetite. I used to eat a lot, and now I barely eat.

My parents and family members say I'm dizzy because I haven't been eating right, but I do eat.

My mom doesn't want to call a psychologist because she says that I can get rid of them by myself. Help?

Answers:
Mom doesn't understand that you are really suffering. My son went to the emergency room about fifteen times in the last two years with panic attacks. You think you are having heart attacks, and even worse. Poor thing. I notice his were after he got into a fight or said some mean things to the people he loved. It was almost like he unconcienciously was punishing himself. He takes xanax for the panic attacks, but we have learned that xanax, although a miracle drug, can cause seizures when trying to detox from it...but panic attacks are real and they go along with anxiety also. This could be hereditary, it could be a result from a lot of things. Mom doesn't understand, because she doesn't suffer from it, so don't be too harsh on her...But you might want to research panic attacks on google, and also anxiety disorder also. And then, go talk to someone professional, but not a phsycologist, you need a phsyciatrist, who can prescribe you medication for when you have an attack, and get to the bottom of why you are having them. Good luck sweetie, I wish you the best. I hated seeing my beloved son suffer mentally like that, and he truly suffered.

Panic Attacks are caused from a chemical in balance, sometimes you can help by some deep breathing exercising, you need to go back to your Dr
You do need to seek help.

Look for a mental health center that has both psychiatry and psychology as you will most likely need both.

If you are motivated to get well and you get treatment early this can be cured or managed quickly.

Good luck and hang in there!
The problem you have mentioned are related to Generalized anxiety with occasional panic attack. I think you must need consultation of a Psychiatrist.
Your parents and friends are not trained to diagnose any mental problem. If this is getting worse, you obviously cannot handle it yourself. A regular MD or hospital will only check you for physical problems. It takes a psychologist or psychiatrist to get to the root of your actions and fears. If there is nothing wrong then let someone who is trained tell you this. Often a chemical imbalance occurs as your body goes through various changes which can cause your symptoms. Proper diagnosis and treatment can easily help you to overcome these problems before they get worse, and without professional help, they could get much worse.
