I didn't sleep longer but I did have very vivid dreams, as well as extreme nausia, I couldn't take it. after a week I went back to the dr.
I took Effexor before and it made me calm and able to sleep longer. But I think I took out my hair due to stopping and starting the medicine.
Effexor XR has been reported to have the side effect of making dreams more vivid. The reason this happens and how this happens is not known. If it is bothersome speak with the health care professional that prescribed it for you.
Effexor XR can also cause a change in appetite, nervousness, and your desire to do things. It can also increase or decrease your sexual appetite and pleasure.. but this is rare.
Effexor XR should never be stopped abrutly as it is well known to cause dizzyness, drops in blood pressure and other problems if not stopped slowly over time.
Not all medications work the same in all people, so do not assume that you will experience problems anyone else has with a medication.
I had been through a lot, and my doc prescribed Effexor XR 300 mg per day. I actually found it hard to sleep, and since that I'm a nurse and know that this drug is actually a stimulant, I'd suggest seeing your doctor. In general every anti depressant is a sort of stimulant. If it gets you lucid and tired...then it's not the right drug for you. You should really ask to switch it up since it's obviously not working.
I take 225mg per day,I don't have any dreams but it makes me tired, no sex drive, and angry at times. But if I don't take it then I cry all the time. .
