yes definatley, it is usually called Clinical Depression which happens when a traumatic experience happens in someones life. I went through it when I delivered a still born baby and I chose not to use meds but I am seeing a psychologist who is amazing if you think you may be experiencing this go see a doctor and get help because it is a tough battle. good luck
