Isn't that pretty much what bipolar is?? A personality disorder?
Yes I believe you can have multiple disorders. The problem it seems is that you didn't get a direct answer from your doc.You are the patient. You pay for advise and medical help.Get another appointment and ask him to be more direct with your questions. If he doesn't help you then, you may want to see another doc.At least to get a second opinion.♥
Yes. In my opinion borderline personality disorder is a difficult call because it is so non-specific. Doctors may disagree altogether. The bipolar disorder is easier to diagnose.Give your medications a chance and when you feel better, please don't stop them. It's easy to do,but remember continued use is the key. If there are unwanted persistent side effects, tell your doctor so that appropriate changes can be made. You deserve a better quality of life. Don't stress over the labels. What's important is that you get the help you deserve and as a result improve your quality of life.
Ask your doctor again. You can but do you is two different questions. Only your doctor can answer that question.

No Bipolar or Manic Depressive Disorder has nothing to do with multiple personalities.
yes you can. i worked at a mental health center and its very common for people with a mental illness to have a borderline personality also. i bet the majority of our clients did.
